You talking about hunting Jerry King's land? The last couple of days I have been driving around Taylor County and scouting out areas of timber that are butted up with CRP and crop fields. Got to get out the plat map and start calling land owners.
My dad and his sister own around 650 acres straight north of Sand's Timber (some of the land butts right up to the lake) and own a few acres along Vail Ave. (dirt road past Gray's house). I have seen some decent bucks on our property, but passed on all of them. Since I moved back this year as well didn't get a great opportunity to really scout it much. It was frustrating, looks like a place that would hold alot of deer and saw lots of deer sign, but just not the concentration I would expect. Have some decent timber too, but for whatever reason did see many deer in it.
Is Sand's Timber totally open for public hunting. My dad talked about hunting the "bluffs" around Blockton have you hunted it at all during bowseason?
