Recommended brace is 7.5"-8.25"
Dacron would be the best choice...B 50, B 55
I had a couple of Pearson recurves...nice shooters but I really like my Pearson longbow
3 Rivers has a glue specifically for overlays...about $2 plus shipping
It can be as complicated as you make it or as simple as you want it...I prefer simple
These are two recurves I'll be hunting with this year. The one on the left is a 1968 Bear Super Kodiak, 60" 50@28...one on the right is a 1965 Bear Kodiak, 60" 58@28
The spine is different. The longer arrow is weaker
They're new limbs and should be as such. You wouldn't drive a new car off the showroom floor with a ding in the door. LAS will take care of it...they're good people.
What length riser are the limbs rated for and what length is the SF? Also, the limb pad angles could be different on your SF changing the weight of the limbs
Til it breaks like Slippy's did...then it's a big deal
It should be 35" at tension. Also, it probably attaches to tear drop anchors that come below the wheels. Don't buy from Amazon....call a string maker, tell him what bow you have and how it attaches....
Two Guys...I loved that store! Had one 2 blocks away and spent many an hour there as a kid
And laying them on the floor won't hurt them...just don't lean them up against the wall for extended periods of time
I hang mine horizontal on a rack
A month ago, I posted I'll be hunting with a Hill Big 5 and a Hill Wesley Special. I'll still hunt with the Big 5 but sold the Wesley. Picked up a Tradtech Black Onyx 15" riser and put some W-W...
I like the Jo Jan multi-fletcher
Post this on the FITA forum here....some top-notch shooters there and you'll get some great advice on risers and limbs
I probably had 20 bows just this year alone(recurves and longbows)and I'd be hard pressed to name them. In the last 20 yrs, I'm guessing well over 100 bows
Hill Wesley Special, 66" 53@26. Cocobolo riser and overlays, bamboo limbs under clear glass, FF ok, 1 7/8" straight grip. Beautiful bow in VG cond. $375 TYD...paypal ok(I'll pay fees), or USPS money...
I've been shooting these two bows lately....they'll probably be my hunting bows this year. The recurve on the left is a 1965 Bear Kodiak, 60" 58@28 and the longbow on the right is a Hill reverse...
The 58# is for sale only
For sale or trade. '65 Kodiak, 58@28. Nice cond., little stress on limbs. Nice shooter, just a bit heavy for me. $325 tyd or trade for another '65-66 Kodiak or '71-72 Super Kodiak 45-50#. Can send...
My 2 favorite quivers...Schulz American Leather's on the left and a Hill on the right
The Hill quiver is a great quiver for hunting and I guarantee I could off a 2nd shot quicker than someone using a bow-mounted quiver...and it really isn't that much more movement required if any
12 months for a Blacktail Elite t/d custom recurve. About 6 months into the wait, I wanted a new guitar...the ex said one or the other. Cancelled the bow and bought a Gibson SG and a Kustom...
