My only chance at a velvet buck is to hit it with my truck on the way to work.
They're usually held up in good habitat and not easily seen because of all the summer foliage. You ever see a turkey in the summer? Their mouths are always wide open trying to stay cool. Turkeys hate...
My thoughts also.
Something I'd like to see a lot less of is cuts away from the actual hunting footage to some dork in a Yeti cooler hat and Mathews shirt in front of a green screen cracking corny jokes....
Saw that hunt a while back and just shook my head. I wouldn't take that shot if you paid me.
Rarely do mature bucks visit bait piles during shooting hours. I prefer just hunting over their natural food.
I've found the deer don't care. I really love my two piece quiver, I could care less what others think.
Congrats! Beautiful gobbler and an even better photo!
Try different strikers along with different spots on the calling surface. If you create friction near the center of the call, you'll get more low pitched tones. You'll get higher pitched tones while...
I don't consider it a pass through, but who really cares? The old doe is dead and that's all that matters.

Spot looks solid, stay put and keep calling. Late day birds are usually looking for action.
Nice buck! I've seen worse taxi work, too bad the neck shrink slightly takes away from it. Still a good mount nonetheless.
Elk, Mule Deer and Pronghorn in Montana.
Sorry, had to be that guy...
The only toolbag to hunt pheasants with face paint, he needs his nuts clipped.
I get very nervous when shooting at mature does. Might as well be a 150" buck.
I need to work on that.
Nice work, that walking pneumonia is no fun. Glad you were able to stick a few birds.
Thank you so much for your sacrifice and service! Greatly appreciated.
35 yards on my first P&Y, deer had no idea what happened. Jogged 20 yards and tipped over dead. I almost puked!
I shot a doe this last fall through the heart at 20 yards, she ran maybe 40 and was stone dead in 10 seconds. Every deer is a bit different.
I've been checked several times duck hunting and fishing, never had a problem and the officer was always polite and respectful.
Just use the NWTF score calculator, pretty simple.
Have a tape measure and digital scale handy.
Great pictures and congrats on a great hunt! What does the average Osceola weigh? They look a bit smaller than their eastern cousins.
Anything 115" or bigger. Around my area, that's at least a 3.5 year old deer. Lots of hunting pressure.
I bought an Avian LCD jake/hen pair last year. Looking back, I should have just spent a little more money on the DSD and supported an American company with products also made in the USA. The Avians...
