Pin, what BH are you shooting?
Still have timing to contend with, with compounds and if you accidentally cut a string or cable......ouch!! Changing a string on a recurve is as simple and as quick as it gets. You already have a...
What Duke said about meters:-) Your ear is the real test and neither means much in the real world of deer hunting:-)
Micro or Matrix 355 will do the job for you. Warning!!!! They are addictive:-) for lots of reasons. Put a Danny Miller flemish string on it and hunt:-) No more string problems.
I struggled a bit with selecting the right arrow combination for my Micro's because it quickly became obvious that I could not use my tried and true 20" Accuspines.....sticking out 4" past the foot...
Pin, looks like you are having fun with that little runt:-)
Yesterday was the first hunt for me. Deer didn't start moving until about 5:00pm. I saw 13 doe's and 2 small bucks, all munching on...
Back to hunting:-)
Yep it has and is still being beaten to death:wink: and I don't see that changing. When a product stops being talked about and debated, watch out:-)
I agree with RT on most of his posts but not...
You guys argue.....I'm hunting:-) Duke made some darn good points, BTW:-)
Duke, so would I:thumb: I start workouts on mine tomorrow.....assuming the blasted drizzle has stopped.
Amen to that:-)
MC, the one closest in the photo is an Excal Micro 335, the one in the middle is my Stryker 350 I've had since 2011 and the one in the back is my original Excal Vortex that has a modified riser (limb...
I've owned, tested, shot and hunted with lots of crossbows during the last 12 years. During that time I've migrated over to recurves but not totally. I like all crossbows too much to do that:-) We...
Looks like my first day will be Monday:-(
Funny how a new crossbow is introduced 5 years after the Stryker still can't match the LS 390's overall features. 4" longer and a pound heavier than the Stryker????
Just remember, past a certain point, speed becomes a PITA if you shoot alot:-) The sweet spot is called that for very good reasons.
SEW loves that head:-) RT, congrats!!
Tomorrow will be only the second time I've missed opening day of archery deer hunting season since 1963.......if I recall correctly:-) I'm not hunting in this crappy weather. In the late 60's I...
What Duke said:-) For me, reticle design is all important for crossbow hunting.
Exactly what Pin said:-) My 2011 early production 350 is still going strong. It's one sweet compound crossbow. David at Wyvern is the man for Strykers.
Hats off to Todd and the folks at Crossbow Magazine:thumbs_up Great articles and product reviews places this magazine at the top, IMO. I especially like the inside of the front cover:thumb:
You decide. Scope preferences are as crazy as broadheads:laugh: Your price points surely cut your choices down.
It is mine now no matter what the others do. There are some whispers going around about the Stryker being discontinued. Unless they replace it with something better (that would be a tall order) I'm...
I think the importance of scope parallax is greatly overplayed for crossbow hunting....JMO:-)
Seems like if you have a good hunting spot...keep a lookout over your shoulder!!! I've seen it happen many times over the years. It's always something that screws up your hunting, not making it...
I can understand it on some crossbows but not this one:-)
Of course:-) I like both but if it came down to only one................one recurve and one Stryker:-)
I hear Fios stinks.
Clint, take a look at the Stryker fore end. You'd have to have the longest fingers in the world to hold the bow by the fore end and still get a finger or thumb up above the deck.
