Thumbs down Weak!!!

I was astounded when the crowd booed him. Who gives a s--t about team
rivals, that was the most classles act Iv'e seen in some time. Totally Weak!
He shut them up real quick like. Put your foot in your mouth Cheese Heads cause your true colors showed yesterday!

He even smirked about it when he ran onto the field. The NFC North division has the some of the oldest and meanest rivalries in all of the NFL. It is called the black and blue division for a reason. I guarantee that when he finally decides to retire and the Packers retire his number that he will be cheered. There will be the select group of individuals that won't, but hey...that is sports.
That post about sums it up. This didn't have so much do to with Favre as it did that he was a Viking.

When he retires he will be cheered. If he takes the Vikings to the super bowl, Packer fans will root for him.

That's what I don't get is why people would call the crowd moronic. I think it would have been a slap in the face of the current Packers if they would have cheered him. I am one that will never root for the Vikings period. That would be like a Red Sox fan cheering for the Yankees cause Johnny Damon plays for them now.

I agree with both of these posts. It wouldve been a complete insult to the packers to cheer for a guy that is playing for a division rival. Id love to see how indy fans would treat manning if he went and played for the pats... Calling packer fans classless just shows how little you know about the situation...

But I do have to agree that he tore us up both times we played him but I still agree we are better off with rodgers in the long run. And for those of you that disagree just Compare each qbs numbers for the 2 games.. It just shows how its not just brett beating the pack its the team around him thats beating us. Put rodgers on the vikes and I bet he has very similiar number/record. (Minus the 49ers win)

Would Brett be alive today playing behind this GB line?

Another good point. Rodgers has won us and kept us in games because of his mobility. Favre wouldve been done after a game.

As long as he throws it away out of bounds. Don't just start throwing it up for grabs. We've seen how that plays out too many times. 286 times to be exact.

lol too true

the fact of the matter remains the Packere were able to replace a legend, which is damn near impossible, just ask Miami or Denver. and they are better off in doing so.

Well I'd be happy to tell you, but for starters the patriots are not in our division, so lets say he went to the Titans.

When the Peyton manning and the Titans came to Lucas oil stadium for the divisional game, Peyton would enter the stadium to applause (maybe or maybe not standing) and then we would promptly root for our new guy to give him a sound spanking.

No one is saying that packers fans should root for the Vikings, that's just silly.
Of course you should root for your team to win, as we would in a similar situation. But the booing is poor sportsmanship, and bad form, and the only people who can't see that are the Packer fans

Give me a freaking break. Wow do you think it hurt poor little Favre's feelings that he got booed. It's a football game that people paid a ton of money to watch grown men play a game and get paid millions to do it. If they want to boo so be it. Favre just laughs all the way to the bank.

So tell us oh great arbiter of sportsmanship is it ever OK to boo at a sporting event.

Good point - Fans boo when they disagree with a coach's decision on the field (not going on fourth down for example), or a ref's bad call, etc. The fans weren't booing Favre as a person, just his decision to become a Viking.

Yes it is, but I did not take you to raise.
If you have somehow reached adulthood, having never learned manners or sportsmanship, it is probably too late to explain it to you.

I would like to see Favre win the Super Bowl with the Vikings, go into the Hall of Fame as a Viking, then watch Ted Thompson and McCarthy get run out of GB forever.

Yeah right. Um these are the same fans that booed a 15 year girl who was a contestant in the punt pass and kick contest because she was wearing a Patriots jersey.

I had never seen seen that before!

You know the difference between you and me?

I will admit that that was some low class trailer park crap, from my home town crowd. It embarrasses me and makes me ashamed.
Unlike you I will not defend nor try to justify bad form.

The reason I said I would like to see how indy fans would treat manning as a pat is because they seem to have competitive games each and every year as the top two teams in the afc. Like others have said, we did not boo brett for still playing or because we didnt think he was still a great qb we booed him because he ran into our stadium wearing a vikes uniform. If he wouldve came running into the stadium as a jet or any other team Im sure he wouldve got a much warmer reception. I dont think alot of people outside of WI really understand what completely went on in gb 2 years ago so they have a hard time realizing why packers fans acted the way they did

ha I forgot about indy fans booing that little girl. What a joke, I can only imagine what they would do if their franchise qb decided he wanted to play for the pats and ran into the stadium wearing a pats uniform ha

Rodgers is indeed better for GB in the long run.

Favre is short term for us but excelling right now. I have no idea what we'll do after this year or next year - regardless of how the Vikes do.

We have some Packer fans at work about ready to jump off a roof though.

As mentioned in previous posts unless you are from the area you wouldn't understand. That said, in both states you will find Packer fans and Viking fans. While we hate each others teams, we can get together and enjoy the game. I've been to the Viking's stadium wearing my green and gold and wasn't treated badly.

I own a campsite where there are a lot of Packer and Viking fans. We kid each other all the time, but we're all still friends.

Wisconsin and Minnesota has a lot of things in common. Very similar states. Favre getting booed says nothing about the quality of people here. I've lived in a lot of states when I was in the military. The people in Wisconsin as a whole are good people and I will argue with anyone who says otherwise.

It's funny that so are so upset about Green Bay fans booing a Viking player. It probably helped Favre out in his teammates eyes. Another example that he is a true Viking now by getting booed by their rival. Anyway I've had enough I'll leave you to continue your man crush on Favre.
