Trail camera problem
What would make my trail camera power off. I put fresh batteries in it last Sunday, and it took pictures that night. Never had another picture on it for the last 3 days. When I picked it up the power was off. Brought it home turneed it on , and stayed on for an hour, than powered off. Tried to turn it back on , and it wouldnt. Turned it on today and it is still on for about an hour now.
thanks,Barry

mine was shutting off and i had taken my sd card out and it stayed on for a couple of days so fare not sure why the sd card was making it shut off. what make is your camera. try it without the flash card if you have internal memory
If you can flash the firm ware try that also. keep us posted |

Have read several forums stating this same issue, many, like mine were fixed by opening the body and wiring it to a rechargeable 6 volt battery. |

sounds like low-quality batteries... are they rechargeables?... I've seen many that would take a charge, appear to have a charge, but not hold onto it, either dying very quickly or not keeping up with the power needs (shutting off after an hour, turn it back on it runs for an hour...)
I'd open it up and wire it to an external battery - the 6v mod already mentioned. ... You just connect a wire from the +(pos.) of the batt. to the +(pos.) connection in the cam, then a wire from - (neg.) to -(neg.) Hit up a hobby shop that deals in RC cars/planes for good rechargeable batteries and chargers. Pete |

my moultrie game spy i60 i think it is powered off one day with fresh batteries. turned out the sd card that came with it was junk. it was a moultrie branded card. having good luck with PNY Optima SD 2GB cards. Make sure to buy Alkaline batteries too, those "Super Heavy Duty" ones are really light/weak and don't last more than a month.

I had a Moultree Camera. It did the same thing. I sent it back because it was under warranty and they told me it had moisture inside. They did not fix it!!!
