Which one do YOU think is better? Because that's all that matters.

Just keep in mind, everyone has an opinion and everyone could be right. What could be just the ticket for one person, might be the polar opposite for someone else. Threads like these always end in tears, with the Fanboys and Kool-Aid drinkers hashing it out in heated "debates" where nobody is the wiser after it's all said and done.

If you're thinking of shooting any brand of bow, just shoot them all and find out for yourself what is better.... For YOU.

It's really not the bow it's the shooter..

Bows are just equiptments, materials that are made from people who has the brains and know hows. Their making money off us... any one can make a bow.. but no one can make a person shoot good...The Person or persons make them selves shoot good. A brand name bow is used for advertising..just like rap star stars and their bling bling.. ( see my point)..

Both make excellent bows and you should shoot both. However, bowtech did win the AT hunting bow evaluation in 06 and 07 so their technical performance has been tested and found to be the top of the heap. The fit and finish and overall shootablility/performance of a bowtech is exceptional.....

THERE IS NO BETTER OR BEST COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT EVER BOW YOU SHOOT THE BEST IS THE ONE YOU SHOULD BUY AND ONLY YOU WILL KNOW WHATS BEST FOR YOU AFTER YOU SHOOT BOTH.

both companys like most built great bows thats are pretty much completly different in design and function. go try both and tell us which one was better for you.

No doubt Mathews takes Bowtech by 1000 miles according to my Mathews fan boys...

This is what you should be asking:

"Which bow do I like more for my purpose?"

They are both super archery companies. The bow that shoots and fits you the best is the one to get! If it's a Mathews, great, go have some fun. If it's a Bowtech, great, go have some fun. What the heck does it matter what anyone on here thinks?

Well, Since this is a tough question to answer, then i will give my opinion. Mathews bows have a pretty picky grip. The really reflexed risers even amplify this. If speed, weight, quality, etc. are comparable, then you have to find the one that is the most user friendly. Most of the BT grips are more consistent IMO.

archery is PERSONAL PREFERENCE. Every bow company makes great bows otherwise they wouldn't be in business anymore.

I just want to ask this without coming across the wrong way. Do most of you think that all bow companies make an equal quality product? Why is it that so many people feel that in this business that everyone is so equal. in quality? I really dont agree. I picked up a Limbsaver Dreadzone this weekend just to see how it shot. The grip is horrid. What is sad is that some engineer designed that grip and was paid to do so. I do not understand.

I completely understand your preference of grips, as I happen to think that of all the bows that I've personally shot the Bowtech grip (such as on my 82nd and General) is the best thing since sliced bread..

BUT... With that being said, I don't think that how a grip feels to an individual is any reflection of the "quality" of the bow. IMHO, It's just a part of the design. I do feel that most, if not all of the major bow companies put out a quality product. The difference comes down to what you want personally and how the bow feels to you personally. I've shot many of the major bow brands at some point. PSE, Browning, Rytera, Mathews, etc... And now I'm shooting Bowtech. I can't see anything coming down the pike that's going to make me jump ship anytime soon but at the same time there are so many new and exciting companies that are coming out of the woodwork. I can say that I've never had a reliability issue with any of these brands. But, over time my personal preferences have changed and so have the bows I've shot.

I think that's why it's paramount that anyone that wants to shoot a bow, needs to get out there and shoot as many as you can. Take recommendations (especially from those with a "this bow is the best, hands down" attitude) with a grain of salt and make your own decisions.

I believe that poor fit and finish is a direct result of lesser quality. What defines quality then? I have seen people shim limb pockets with strips cut from a coke can the tighten the tolerances. Would this be necessary for a good quality bow?

Ok, let's go back to what you said:

What part of that would lead me to believe that you were describing fit and finish? Sounded like a personal preference for the feel of the grip to me and that is what my comment was based on. Nothing more, nothing less.
