Anyone know of something that I could use to help keep these things off of my mounts. I have never had this problem before and I have about 15 deer mounted. They are eating the hide I guess because the hair is just falling off the back. When I pulled the deer off the wall there was hair stuck to the wall. I saw and killed a little creme colored moth. Anything suggestions would help. Thanks
since it's going to be aboout 5 degrees in the morning i put all my deer heads in the garage this morning and will let them stay there for the next couple days.....i do this every winter just to kill anything that may be living in or on them! best yearly maintenance besides regular cleaning that i can recomend!
Before you do anything you need to analyze the problem. First you need to check to see if it is a male or female. Can you see any moth balls?:darkbeer:
had this happen to a friend of mine. the moths were eating the deer hides
and the turkey feathers. he called a exterminator and had to have some pretty
serious applications done. dont mess with it, call a professioal/
