I was lucky enough to shoot a prototype yesterday. It was an extremely smooth draw. Stiff but smooth. Good let off and extremely quiet and stable at the shot. Kudos to Bear on this bow. Speeds were a little slow on the prototype (325 range) but was told that string and cabling changes have jumped it up to quoted specs. Great speed out of a 7 inch brace single cam if you ask me. Best of all it has a "reasonable" price tag compared to some of the other bows in this category.

Weve been selling them in our shop for 2-3 weeks now. There one heck of a bow. Smooth draw with just a little bump at the end but when it goes off theres, no jump, no noise, no vibration, no nothing. The bow doesnt flip foward it just sets in the hand. Plus with a 7" brace and 340IBO you cant go wrong with it. Its a awesome bow!!

Mine arrived yesterday afternoon. I put my sight on it and drop away. It was 72 lbs out of the box so i took it down to 65lbs because that is what i am currently shooting on my tribute. The draw cycle is better than i expected and it does have a solid back wall which hasnt always been the case on bear bows. The valley is o.k. And the bow is easy to hold back at full draw. I am not in love with the rubber grip or the string supressors but they are supposed to work well, time will tell. I did call bear and they do have a wood grip for the bow if i want to purchase it. I hope to have set up by thursday evening and i can give you some accurate speed readings along with reports on vibration and noise. I love the new olive green cams. Very well balanced bow. It appears to be the real deal but i will know what i have when i can test its speed next to some of my other bows

Can you guys post some pics once you get the bows tricked out? I am looking at a Elite GT500 but I want to shoot the bear first before I pay for one.

    Thanks

I wish the local shops would get the Attack in here! Sounds like a great bow!
On a side note, I ordered a wood grip for my Truth II (same grip) and it was well worth the $28.00 the dealer charged me. Better feel, and (IMHO) it makes the bow look alot nicer. That rubber grip has a cheap look to it... Especially on a $700.00 + bow.

If all goes well today, i should be able to post lots of info on it tomorrow. I shot the mathews z7 and it was smooth with a solid back wall and the bear feels about the same. The preloaded limbs are awesome, i love the color of the cams and bow. Not crazy about the rubber grip but that can be replaced. It is a 31 in ata but it feels like a longer bow with good balance. The valley as i said earlier is not large but ok, i can hold the bow all day at full draw which is important for a hunting bow. For me the real results will be tonight when i can find out the speed, vibration, and noise which are suppossed to be the great thing about this bow. I will be checking to see how long it takes to tune it and how level the nock travel is. Hopefully i will have tomorrow morning.

Nice rig for the $. People whove shot it were very impressed at quickness and lack of recoil. They sell for $599 at my shop. I havent shot it yet, need a lefty. Think the string suppressors are pretty hideous, but probably wouldnt let it affect my buying decision.

The suppressers come off with 2 screws, it would be easy to have a limb saver product with the bear logo on it threaded into for a nice touch and put an sts on it the bow instead.

I was able to shoot my attack tonight. They could not put the peep in because they do not have the new bow press that will do this bow. The bow is extremely quiet, zero kick and a very slight vibration but i shot it with no stabalizer. The draw cycle was better than i expected, with a release it is very easy to hold at full draw. It is firing arrows like an x-force but i will see tonight what it is really doing. I expected it to be good but so far it is better than i expected. It is extremely well balanced and gives you a feel of a much longer bow. There was a host of employees and customers at the archery shop wanting to touch it and listen to it for noise along with watching the speed. Everyone said it is way better than the truth ii. So far i would give it an a+. I am really hoping it is much faster than my 07 tribute which has been my favorite hunting bow of all time. The attack is much quieter than my tribute, holds easier at full draw and appears to be much faster. Tomorrow i will post real speeds with arrow weights.

Man this thing is looking better and better. So I was reading on their sight and it looked like if you ordered a 50 -60 pound bow you had to get it in 28 is that just what the DL is set for and when you get it you can change it to what you need?

The 60lb version of the Attack comes in a 28" draw length, but ranges from 25" - 30" with a module change. It also has a 1/2" dl adjustment on the cam, giving the DL a 24 1/2" to 30 1/2" range.

Here is a couple more pictures of the Attack I found on the net......

Neat looking rig, I dont think the string suppressors are bad at all, they go with the Curves of the limbs.

Yes, the shop I help out at is selling Bear Attacks for $599.00. I'd never considered shooting a Bear until I saw this thing. Its a nice looking rig. Customers who've shot it have been very impressed. Ive drawn it a time or two, no discernible humps and a solid wall to boot. Waiting for a lefty so I can shoot it too!

    Bear Attack

I have an '08 Truth II...It's smooth and shoots well. Amost the same cam as the Mathews Outback a friend just got...Aside from some cosmetic cuts we really couldn't find much in the way of differences. If you get a chance try to compare the cams. For the money (going for under $400 now), I like the T2...As for the dual suppressors...well, Mathews has used them for quite awhile and now Bear is using them, based on their harmonic testing...They seem to work quite well and I really think we are going to see more of this type of suppression in the future on more bows. They work fine. Don't like the looks of dual suppressors? ...don't buy one. If the Attack is as good as it appears to be I'll be looking for a good used one in about a year. Initial acceptance seems to be high. Bear is doing fine and producing good bows.

That is a very very nice looking bow. Those string stoppers are ugly as sin but I can see they are positioned very well to do what they are for. I believe they will be able to be picked up for 600.00 and that should have most bow makers afraid of bears in this rough economy. Good Job to the makers on this one.

Bear Archery has come a long way in the last couple of years. Anyone looking for a new bow should definately check out the Bear line-up before going to the Mathews dealer!

I was considering the Z7 and the attack. I shot the Z7 last week and it was nice. But, IMHO no smoother than my Truth 2. Most likely I will end up with the Attack.
