How do I repair a hole in LaCrosse Rubber Boots?

Got new pair of Lacrose Alphas last year and while scouting some new property the other day I got tangled in some old barbwire. Man I was sick as I cut a small slit about 1/4 inch long on the top about 2 inches from the toe. Paid like $110 for these and love them so can someone PLEASE tell me I can fix these. I thought about an old tire patch, I mean as a boy we would repair tubes so why won't it work in this case? Anyone that knows please give me some good news. Thanks!

I just did it. I actually used a piece of a bike innertube and some general purpose adhesive.

I used a rasp and roughed up the rubber. Seems ok.

However, mine is along the calf area not the foot.

I tried ShoeGoo. Its like $4 for a tube in the Walmarket shoe dept or other shoe stores. It worked on some other shoes, but on my rubber boots it only held up for a bit. The glue appeared to get knocked off after using my climbing stand a few times. It smells real nice but for me it didn't work on rubber boots.

Go to LOWES or Home Depot .

Get a tube of marine or plumbers GOOP ($5.00) .Clean and ruff up around hole. Make sure you use the cone nozzle and shoot some inside.Let it leave
a little raised spot on outside. This stuff will fix ANYTHING !

Use a thick intertube patch or section of intertube, and glue with 3m #5200, marine adheisive. The white stuff is for faster setting, the black takes a little longer to set, but if the area is roughed up, and "clean", The repair will last longer than the rest of the boot. Ace hardware carries the adheisive, as well as most marine stores.
