    2010 PSE Vendetta XS

I'm very fortunate to have a great friend that puts up with my addiction and is more than willing to serve me up with any bow at almost anytime.

Well, Scottie/pa sent another VERY nice bow my way yesterday in the PSE Vendetta XS.
First off, the bow made me a little nervous since the price was so low. I had to think why such a difference between the Vendettas and the Axe? So not knowing, I earlier opted for the more expensive and bought the PSE Axe 6. After a lengthy test, I absolutely love that bow. Smooth, fast, easy to draw and just a touch of vibration from time to time. With a doinker on the front, I feel almost no vibration at all. The bow is accurate, with a flat shelf and great grip. It balances perfect front to back and side to side. I feel it is to date one of the best bows ever. I have no complaints other than I wish the limb pockets were like the DS and Omen, but that’s not a big deal at all.

Then the Vendetta XS shows up on Thursday. This bow is almost everything the Axe is, but with a touch less vibration. It seems to draw a little easier, and is just as SMOOTH. It was very light, I think 3.6# or something and balanced just like my Axe 6. For a 6.5 inch brace height it was just 5-7fps slower than my Axe 6 and was really impressive. Drop it down to a 6 like the Axe and they are EQUAL. I think the valley a touch better, but that could have been the way this one was setup…I’m not a tuning master like Scott. I have to say…if I didn’t already put a little ding in my Axe…I’d sell it and keep the Vendetta to pocket the difference. I’ve never liked the really short bows, but this is the first one that shot well for me. After talking with Scott a bit tonight, I went out and shot it some more in the cold. I am SO Impressed with this little shooter.

For the price, I do not know another bow that can match up with the over all performance of this bow.

Pros: Smooth draw, NOT STIFF, yet fast. Good valley and a nice wall. Flat shelf and a good grip. Less vibration than the Axe (which is fantastic, but I notice a little from time to time). Was the most accurate short ATA bow that I have ever shot (out to 40 yards tonight).

Cons: No Stabilizer bushing. Cheaper strings, but I only use John’s Customs anyway so no big deal to me. Other than that…I cannot really rip this bow.

The only real negative is that I bought the Axe 6 first and could have saved a few bills on this super sweet, inexpensive shooter. It just bugs me that PSE got this much performance at such a low price. I almost expected some cheapness or sacrifice in the bow…but I found none (for the most part).

If anyone is looking for a value in 2010, look no further. You cannot stretch your dollars any further to achieve such a high level of satisfaction and solid return on your minor investment. Great bang for the buck.

    Nice Job PSE.

I'll keep the big brother in the Axe, but if I didn't have one...the Vendetta Xs would be here to stay.

    Cons: No stabilizer bushing?
The Vendetta XS in this thread looks like it has a stabilizer.

The bushing, (metal insert) is not there. It's just a threaded riser cut.

I can deal with it, since I use a QD, but I thought I'd point it out.

Better than BT equalizer for short draw ?

My wires 06 EQ is getting long in the tooth and having something that has a rotating mod instead of replaceables is better

    PSE Vendetta XS

Thanks for the review Karbon. I don't need another bow, but was debating on getting a short ATA bow for using in a ground blind. This is one I was interested in trying out, but haven't been able to yet. What is the Vendetta XS selling for right now?

    Talking Karbon is evil!

That's the only conclusion that I can come to. To post all this great info, making guys want these bows so bad...

Seriously though, thanks for the info. The Vedetta XL is the one I think I will have to have, but not until probably June. It's gonna be a long wait.

PSE seems to have really done a great job this year. There are other very good bows from most companies, but for the $, the PSE lineup looks like a winner. My local guy is a PSE dealer, but all he ever has in the shop is Hoyt and Bowtech. May have to decide whether to order from Scottie or John. I like decisions like that (win/win).

I agree man it the most bang for the buck. And like you sain John under rated is true. A customer came in yesterday and we set one up at 30/60 ans shot a 301 grain arrow and it was hitting 342. Needless to say i took several orders for the XS yesterday.

If your getting 342 out of a 30/60 then I would love to know what a 30/70 does.

I would think they would be close on either 60 or 70 since it would both be 5 grains per pound

because of the 30 inch draw and 60 pounds was 342 fps add 10 more feet per second for a 70 pounder you got a 352 I.B.O bow.

Thats not the way it works you shoot a 350 grain arrow at 70 and a 300 at 60 so the speeds will be very close at 60 and 70 with a ibo spec arrow

I agree it doesnt seem correct but its been stated several times that they are under rated and i was getting 331 and 332 consistantly at 29 and some other guys have as well and everyone knows that a bow is good for around10 fps for 1inch of draw length.

    Vendetta XS

I got 336 fps out of a 29/60 with just a d-loop. At $599, you won't find a better bow. I thought maybe I just had a fast one, but all the Vendetta XS's are doing that speed.

I just came across this thread and to say the least I am interested in this bow. I just sold my PSE Firestorm X that was a perfect, but just lacked the speed. How does this bow compare?

    Thumbs up XL speeds?

I think there are some speeds in this thread. The XS seems to be a little faster than the XL. Shorter ATA and brace.

    This makes me feel better.

I went ahead and ordered one for my wife (27/50 LH, black). Unfortunately, it won't be here for Xmas. As a lot of you know, it's next to impossible to find LH examples of any bow to try out, especially in 50.

I heard so many good things about the Vendetta XS that I went ahead and ordered it without ever having shot it (I hope this doesn't come back and bite me).

I'm hoping she'll get much better performance than she does with her single cam.

The New PSE's and the NBA bows I have are both VERY sweet.
The Genetix is so good...I do not know if I could find another binary bow that I'll ever like better.

Both bows are smooth, accurate, quiet, have little vibration and forgiving.

The only up side to the PSE is they are a touch faster...but the BH is larger so there's the trade off.

The big up sideto NBA is the NBA crew. Tops out there.

I think I'll always have a NBA 2track. And no other company will treat you any better than Kyle and the crew at NBA.

You cannot go wrong with either of these bows. Splitting hairs now for me!

I really do like hearing about these bows, despite the frustration of having to wait. 2 kids in college can do that to a person.

For me, it is between the VXL, the Cyborg, and the Pearson Advantage. I have heard that the 2 tracks are pretty finicky about exact tune, which is ironic, considering that binaries were first billed as a very forgiving format. I hope the 2 track users can continue using them. Certainly, PSE is not going anywhere, and my experience with other CPS style cams has me thinking the VXL would be the best choice for me.

    Enjoy all the testing, Karbon!

If you felt a decent amount of hand vibration, the bow was not set up properly. Its very dead in the hand even without a stabilizer.

I have to agree with the above poster. My tuner is an ok guy at best(), but set my XS up and it has just a HINT of vibration. This is crazy since the bow is SO light, and SO fast. I do not feel anyone other than maybe a diehard, Center Pivot only freak would ever complain about the vibration on the XS.
I even threaded on a cheapy sims s-coil...anything there was GONE. Slap a Doinker in...nothing felt.

It really is an amazing little value bow.
