Hunting Allegany State Park in SW NY.

My wife and I go spotting there all the time and the number and quality of deer there is absolutley incredible compared to Bradford, PA (where I live) which is only 10-15 minutes from the park. The park is huge and deer numbers there are great. I've seen some real monsters there, especially around Red House lake. I really wanna get a NY non-resident license and hunt there this year. Has anyone else ever hunted or been there?

What special regs are there in the park for hunting?
Where have you hunted in the park?
    Any pics or stories?

Just looking to discuss the Park. It seems like a real great place for someone like me that only has high-pressure, low-deer count public land to hunt here on the PA/NY border.

Exactly. I Rather hunt the park. No tresspassing issues there, haha. It is heavily patroled 24/7.

Do a search on this site. I believe ther have been extensive posts.
I know you need a park permit and there are areas that are off limits.
Alot of the huge ones hang there all year long.

It is very good hunting there. Get in touch with GregWNY. He is a member here and lives close to the park and has a lot of good information.

I wish we had public land of that quality here in ENY.

THANKS for the info. Ill hunt Greg down, if he lives close to the park, then he lives close to me, Haha. I need to get away from this high-pressure, no deer PA public land where I live. The park is like a 5-10 minute drive.....
