I wondered about it, but also decided 'not'. Anyone who can hit a guy on a rooftop with a pistol at 50 yrds freehand......not blind.
Gotta love Hollywood gunfights.![]()

When he shot the bird out of the air, I started to catch on that he was blind, also when he shot the cat in the start he waited to it meowed to shoot it. plus he only shot guys that shot first at him so he could pick up on where the sound came from. Watch it again you will pick up on a lot of things. Good movie and ending.

it was all the way to where Mila Kunis won't shut up on the road so he can shoot the bird before I guessed he was blind. As another poster put up, there was always a sound before he acted. Notice when he backed into the shadows and cut the guys hand off??
As for BELIEVING that this could happen in real life, not really.....BUT then again, any of us been through a civilization ending event..yet??
Great movie.

Yea he was blind. Everything he does, he does after a noise. The gun fight in the street he shoots them all cause they shot at him first, but he left the last guy cause he didnt make a noise. Right when he got shot and all the guys were standing around him when he had the knife, none of them moved so he didnt know what to do. Everything was based around sound or smell. I could be wrong but I think he was blind
My first thought is if he was blind and God sent him on this mission than he could of done it all with his help. My second thought was that he was born blind and when there was the great flash he some how was able to see, maybe touched by God when he heard the voice to tell him to go west. The scene where he has the flash back where he sees the bright light and he sits up out of bed. But at the end of the movie I had the same response he's blind? No way, but maybe Gods way

If he was blind how did he know which way was West?
I was pretty sure he ws blind...heck of a good movie!
he was blind........but on his venture West......God gave him sight.
My daughter-in-law wanted me to rent the movie but when she saw I had read this thread she said it ruined the movie. Thanks you guys!![]()

And He backed up under the darkened overpass/tunnel.... to even the odds
and near the end she asked him what if he was walking the wrong way and he said I walk by faith not by sight
What I found amazing and yet ironic in this particular movie, as is the case with most Hollywood Movies, one has to suspend "disbelief".
think about it.![]()
I would say NO! Have watched it quite a few times, when he comes up to doors he reaches out and grabs the door knob, he does not feel around for it. When he picks up things like his battery in the store he does not feel for it and it doesn't "move or make a noise". When he picks the rotiserie cat off of the bone he grabs the small hanging piece without feeling for it.......not Blind.
IMO
I rented it today and will watch it tonite. I got the blue ray version and on a 42 in LG, it ought to be good. Hope so~

OK, I watched the movie and it was good. I have one complaint tho and not with just this movie but many of them now days and thats the blasted whispering! I put on my ear piece and I still couldn't understand them talking at times. I can watch any of the old movies and they speak with clarity and you can hear what they say. I swear I'm gonna quit going to movies if Hollywood don't quit the dang whispering! Just ruins it for me. Now to the movie. I knew he was blind from this thread and my daughter in law said that ruined it for me but I enjoyed it anyway. He was the deliverer and he was given the power to deliver. His other senses were enhanced. It was kinda like "The Green Mile" combined with "Mad Max". It was good and I liked it. Fun to watch!

I enjoyed the movie although there were a few Hollywood glitches that insult the viewer.
You know, the sort of stuff, that the director and producer figure the idiots sitting in the theater won't notice, so just leave it in or don't explain it.
for instance: the disappearing Bow and Arrow. He has it, then he doesn't have it. He doesn't have it, then suddenly (In the sewer pipes) he has it. He has no obvious place to store it, it isn't a break-down model, he just suddenly has it.

Oh, he was blind. But guided by inspiration.
