Bargain Bin Adding photos to your posts, etc.. .with the New Vb format

Ok folks, things have changed slightly with the latest Vb forum version in use, so.. to assist those that haven't figured it out yet, here's how to post pics in your post......

To upload a photo from your pc, you have to click the 'go advanced' button below the post window, this will open the advanced editor (unless you are starting a new thread, in which case the manage attachments will be there without having to 'go advanced').. after you type out your post, scroll down below the post window and you'll see 'manage attachments'... click this and you'll see a window that looks like this -

Now, in the upper right corner, click on 'add files' and you will now see another window -

Click on 'browse' and locate the file on your computer, select it and click 'open' and the screen will look now like this -

Yer almost there! Now, click on the 'upload' button, wait a few seconds for the file to upload, and then you can submit your post and close the manage attachments window.

Viola, your attachment will appear on your post..

If you have already uploaded an image to AT and you want to post it again, it comes up on the list of thumbnail images below the 'add file' section. You can simply locate the image thumbnail and click and drag it to the empty box below the thumbnails and it will then be added to the post as an attachment...

You can also use the image insert tool in the toolbar above the post windows -

and either upload an attachment from your pc, or link an attachment from another public hosting site...

You will have to use a photo editing software to change the pixel size to AT's max size allowable or less than what it is. Just a resize.

Bow1 is right.. new cameras produce huge images... waaaay to large to fit on a screen when viewed full sized, so... the images have to be resized to a reasonable resolution to fit on screen. The forum will resize them automatically if they are a bit too large, but if you try to post a very large image, it will likely fail. You need to resize it before uploading. A size of 800 x 600 is about the largest you want it to still be viewable without scrolling to see the whole image.
