    Mountain Mike's Master of Skulls

Saw these at the ATA show. One of my favorite items of the show. If you got some racks lying around your place, or you want an alternative to the traditional taxidermy, check out this video on my blog (listed in my address below). All the best, Lonnie

If I am not mistaking those are the same ones that they had at sportsman warehouse I saw the other day. If they are they look fake as hell.

I looked these over real good, they look better than some of my real European mounts from Africa and Wyoming. They are going on my wall. I can't speak to what you saw at sportsmans warehouse. All the best, Lonnie.

Sorry, had the video set to private, changed it to public, so you should be able to see it now. Right at the start there are some good examples of some heads made up. Thanks for the reply, Lonnie.

I've seen these and they are nice. They did a good job putting them together.

I have skull plates from 2 bucks this year that need mounted and I think I'll try one of these. I really liked the look of the woodgrain skull but it's a little too pricey to try and not like it so Im going to get a plain one first. I'll report back how it works out.

I've used one,it worked great and looks good. If you set it next to a real euro mount at eye level you can tell its fake. If its u pon the wall it is much harder to tell. I'm not saying it looks bad because it doesn't but when placed next to a real skull you can tell a differance.

I have used several of these and if you take some white caulk and go around the seams of the skull plate and then even it out with your finger its really hard to tell it from the real thing from 5 feet away

Did you see these at the ATA? You can add your own antlers and have a full shoulder mount!

NICE!!! Looks just like the real thing. Not sure how my whitetail horns are gonna look with the mule deer ears though.

do these have the hole in the back of the skull that would be on a real skull?

you know....that hole that you can access the brain when cleaning a real skull

Mike said that it was developed by digitizing a real deer skull, so I think the answer is yes. (Sorry, I do not recall for certain - over 50 recall...) All the best, Lonnie

OK I was just wondering. I have a couple heads in my dads freezer I need to get out. I have some of those wall mounts made by Skip Enterprises
that work by using that hole. If these had that hole I might consider using them as it would be much easier and faster to just cut the antlers off and screw them on.

And yes I love that commercial too. That one and the woodchucks are my favorites right now.

Anyone know if/how these accommodate for different antler base sizes?

It could look kinda goofy if the antler base did not completely fill the recess that accepts it.

Actually they do have several sizes, and species like whitetail and elk. They also have a cut away version if you have skull capped your buck. He explains all that in the video attached to my blog. http://skinnymoose.com/aimsmallmisss...ter-of-skulls/
    Good question.
