    Elite vs Mathews

i have no elite dealer anywhere near me. Right now i have a mathews Z7 extreme and do not plan on buying another bow. i Just want to know what you guys think of the elites because i might get into target archery and dont know whether to buy a mathews conquest triumph or to try some of the elites. maybe the elite tour. im looking for a bow that is dead in the hand and SUPER quiet like my mathews. I am also looking for a nice back wall and accuracy. Let me know what you think will fit the bill thanks.

Won't find a better back wall than those on an elite. After you shoot a few elites, you will be in love with em'. IMO, they kick mathews ass, and I shoot a mathews. Wish I had the time to go and trade in, then buy myself a new Z28.

I recently shot the 2010 mathews and elites side by side and the elites were by far better I could not tell much differance in hand shock between the z7 and the elites but the z7 was totally decked out with vibe control stuff and the elites only had limbsavers but I would go with the elites cuz mathews suck

How is the Elite better? I plan to shoot one soon but just curious since you have experience with both. Which models are you comparing?

I have shot both also. Both are great bow companies. The elites grip feels better to me, and the valley transition felt smoother. I also like the price tag on the elite compared to mathews.

I have owned 2 mathews and recently a PSE. I shot the Z-7 for a couple of hours and compared it to the Elite. The only thing I think the mathews may have an advantage on is its more dead in the hand without a stabalizer. Once you put a stabalizer on that advantage is gone. The mathews may be a tad quieter also. I know own a Pulse and its the best bow I have ever owned.

    Elite over Mathews for me.
Elite has a better draw, backwall, finish, grip and balance.

    Just IMO!

My opinion based on my Z7 vs. Elite Hunter

What about speed, on paper the Hunter is much slower than the ZXtreme.
The Hunter seems much more compareable to the Drenalin than the Z series.

Yep. Mathews would win the speed match all day long. Less vibe on the shot with a Mathews too from my experiance. Elites draw smooth but not like a Z7. The Z7s are also a touch quieter IMO. I have owned both. Hard to pick between those 2.... Very close.

I don't have an Elite dealer within 2.5 hours in good traffic. Don't care really I just bought the GT500 in December and my son has shot the Elite Fire since Christmas 2009. To me it is about knowing that if we have problems when back in IL deer hunting in the fall we can get to two different shops and have the benefit of the Elite Promise, if needed.
I owned and loved the Switchback, SBXT,and Z7 but I couldn't shoot any of these as well as the GT. Good luck!

Both great bows from great companies.
    No wrong answer here.
For me it would be Elite, as I DO NOT like the single cam platform.

Alot of guys like the hunter but I think the Pure and the Pulse have a smoother draw and extra speed.

Pulse- great draw small hump but rolls over nice holds forever and holds great on target smooth release, no shock

Pure- not as fast as the pulse but no hump great back wall, holds great and very very quiet
