I'll be using it this year. I've heard the same about it being the primary attractant in the expensive lures.

Our deer don't care for it. The cows fight over it though

There was a guy with a truckload of it in front of a local sporting goods store last fall. He was asking about $20/bag.
Now if it were the same price as corn, then I might try it, but I could buy 3x as much corn at that price.
    I doubt he sold much.

its $8/50lb here and deer love it. prefer it over corn. i also use dry distilled grains (ddg) mixed with 10% calcium and 5% phospherus and the deer love that too. ddg has 24% protein where as rice bran only has about 14%.

Been using rice bran for the last several years and the deer around here love it. Last year I paid $5.50 for a 40 lb bag. I just use it during the season as a attraction not to feed deer. If your a trying to feed deer all year around corn might be the best option because it can be used in a feeder.

Unstabalized rice bran is $17/50lbs here. Now livestock grade stabilized is $35+/50lbs. So be sure to ask for the right type, makes a huge difference in price.

I have a buddy who drives 200 miles every August to buy rice bran in Arkansas in bulk. He simply has a couple of those huge nylon crate sacks on his trailer filled with it for pennies on the pound. I think he ends up with a ton or so, don't quote me on that tho. Those people selling it for $10+ a sack are making a KILLING!

I pay about $10 a bag for it. Deer love the stuff. I also mix 14% purina stocker pellets in with it. Really puts the weight on them.

Some one needs to tell these florida deer how much deer love it.
I broke down and bought a 50 lb bag for $26 last year. The deer would just walk right by it. Every now and then they would stop and smell it and then walk on by.

I started using it about 5 years ago. It was $6-7 a 50lb bag. More and more people have started using it and now they have a deer picture on the bag and it is around $12/50lb.
The deer here in Arkansas devour it. Usually 50lbs will last at most 2 days.

Guy that works for me buys it in bulk for cheap and uses it to feed his cows. But, we are in eastern Arkansas rice growing country.

I'll have to try that. I did the kool aid deal and it didn't help.

we used to have a place to buy it in bulk, could get a bulk sack with roughly 1000-1100 lbs in it for around 85 bucks. the deer wouldn't eat it at first, so I mixed corn and sweetfeed with it to get them started on it and then they went nuts on it.
