Thread: Encore Trigger Job

    Thumbs up Encore Trigger Job

So after the season ended I decided that I could no longer handle the pull and creep of the trigger on my Encore.

After doing some research on the subject, I decided on using the services offered by Mr. Jim Hendershot.

Super nice guy, always responds to emails, and we had a great verbal conversation about my trigger.

The trigger went in at a heavy 5# 12oz with nasty creep and finished up at 2# 10oz. with ZERO creep. This thing is smooth as butter, and I am so glad I had him do my work.

So, if you need a trigger job, contact Jim and see what he can do for you. I am pretty sure you will be happy; as I am.

I had Jim do trigger work on my Encore after Mike Bellm completely butchered it by way of his $150 "hand tuned" trigger job. Bellm sent my trigger back at 5 lbs, with creep and was "sticky". I couldn't believe it. The sears were so ground down that after TC saw the parts Jim returned, TC's head gunsmith called me and thoroughly questioned me about who had done the work. I wish I had just had Jim do it in the first place. 1/3 the price and my trigger is now unbelievably crisp and breaks at 2lbs 10oz. I highly recommend Jim Hendershot, great guy to deal with.

Here is a link to another Gunsmith that TC gave me the name of after my debacle with Bellm, he is approved by TC and supposed to be very good . . .

$50 plus shipping both ways. If you do not have the over-travel screw, it is $15 more to add it

He got it on a Friday, sent it back to me on the following Monday. Speed to and from is all on how much you want to pay to ship it.

Well, I decided to get my ProHunter trigger done by Jim Hendershot. This guy is the real deal, He responds to e-mails very quick and is great to talk to on the phone. He received my trigger yesterday and it is already on it's way back to me. Went in at just under 5 lbs. and is now 2 lbs. 12 oz. crisp and clean. I'll give another report as soon as I get it on the range, can't wait.

I had put a set of Mike's springs and did some polishing in my pro hunter and it was great compared to stock. Although if pushed hard enough the hammer would fall not good but really not to big a deal being I don't walk around with it cocked. Still I didn't like it so after reading this tread I decided to send it to Jim I can't wait to get it back. I went with a 2/2.5# pull should be much better then my action job.

Well it turned out very nice. Got it last week Friday went and shot Sunday first 3 shots we're less then an inch at 100. It is very hot in the desert now and the barrel got hot fast and groups went south. All in all I'm very pleased with Jim's work . Over travel screw was well worth having installed. Oh ya its 2# in the valley and 1.5 at the tip.
