Ripcord Code Rest.. Vane up or down?

Have had my F1 Fireball for a few months.. tuned it at the pro shop and have had very good groups out to 50+.. Shot my first broadhead today and bad things happened.. Shot a foot and a half low to the left Shooting 65 lbs, Beman hunter 400s w/100 grain field points and muzzy broadheads. Dug around on AT and saw many folks recommended a cock vane up (or down) with the code red. I rotated my nock on one broadhead arrow "up" and low and behold, it was much, much better.. Soooo... is rooster vane up the best way to shoot the code red?

Thanks Randy.. I've never had any trouble getting my BHs to fly close to what my FPs shoot. This is my first drop away release. Will probably take a breath, back away, and fine tune my pins again with FPs and after adusting my vanes... shoot the BHs again. RJ

Yes, cock vane up on the Code Red and on almost every drop away I've heard of! Down on the older prongs (TM Hunter type), Bodoodles, and other shoot through rests.

Weird thing is that my pro shop guy didn't key on this (vane up).. Had my arrows mad up there also. Great little pro shop but I think he missed this one.. I'll give him a holler in the next few days and let him know what I've discovered (with the help of my AT friends)..

I shoot my cock vane up. the profile of the two vanes on the bottom is a little lower than the one cock vane sticking straight up. But, I have shot it out to 40 yds with it both down and up and it didn't make any difference. That just tells me that it drops quick enough to clear it either way.
but just to stay consistant I do shoot it cock vane up.
