Bowtech Guardian changed what was expected from compound bows.

Gotta agree on the Guardian. The 2006 Bowtech Allegiance and 2007 Tribute are also legends in the used bow arena...

I guess all bows are equally good as the others... every each one has its strength. IMO.. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"...

Mathews MQ1 , yes... ive tried and even purchased the latest and greatest bows with the newest "selling gimmics" but i always come back to the old MQ1.just a workhorse , accurate bow without all the useless gimmics..... that i dont want or need. Dennis

Best bows made, here is my short list

    Hoyt Ultratec
    Mathews Switchback XT
    Bowtech Tribute
    Bear Agenda 6
    PSE DNA

Hoyt Ultratec. Think you should really think about keeping your XTec. Same bow just different limbs.

In general I feel these are going to be your most common answers

Mathews- Switchback XT (most will say this is the best hunting bow Mathews has ever made)
Bowtech- Tribute (guardian set a new standard for how quiet a bow could be, but still going with the tribute)
Diamond- Black Ice (made by Bowtech, this is widely considered the best bow they ever built, it is short, forgiving and smooth)

I am sorry but I can't help you out with Hoyt or PSE....

There is no way that the katera is the best bow that hoyt has ever made. It has to be one of the carbon bows. Bowtech's is the assassin, and pse is the vendetta xs. Mathews isn't even worth mentioning

With in the constraints you imposed by your question; I would say 2012 PSE EVO 7.

Looking at the world wide manufacturers; my vote goes to OK Archery ( Germany ). OK has the very best design, machining, finish and performance.
