Happy New Year All,
We are in the planning stages of the second year of the Vermont Triple Crown. This is my first posting of 2012 and with that comes excitement to grow 3-D Archery in Vermont and New England. This first post has two main objectives which are introducing our newest qualifying location and planning our for winter meeting.
• We are excited to announce Catamount Bow Hunters, Inc. in Bennington Vermont will be the First Qualifying Shoot for the 2012 Vermont Triple Crown. Catamount Bow Hunters 3-D course has become one of the top 3-D archery courses in Vermont. They along with us are excited about holding the first qualifying shoot. We do have one dilemma that we want to get feedback from “YOU” the shooters before we finalize dates for 2012. Catamount has March 31st and April 1st open for a date to hold the qualifier. We have looked at other dates but with IBO Qualifiers, R-100 Shoot and the Tri-State Archers shoots it seems they have most of the dates used up. If we learned anything from last year is that we want to grow the Triple Crown and we can’t do that by competing against great organizations like the IBO. We all know the weather is 100% different in Bennington on April 1st compared to Montpelier or St. Albans at the same time. So I NEED and WANT feedback as soon as possible on these dates.
• We are going to hold a winter meeting with-in two weeks to discuss several key topics like: Classes, Format, Dates and Payouts. If you want to come we are going to have the meeting in Burlington and I request you send me a private message or an e-mail so I will have a head count. This meeting is about ideas and not a conflict meeting. From day one I looked at you “The Archer” to help us model these shoots so they were something everyone would enjoy. I know the first year wasn’t perfect but we did receive a ton of positive feedback from a lot of different people. This year we are asking for more of your input and ideas so we can grow the Triple Crown to the next level.
