From what I've heard, BowTech says its "normal" wear and won't fix it. Too bad really, because I for one would love to try an Insanity CPXL but I won't even consider it until they get that straightened out.

Their response to the paint issues in the past, is definitely a turn off to any bow that Bowtech puts out. Hence why I didn't even pick up one of their bows when I was looking for the last few months.

Most of us make the effort to take care of our equipment, and to handle it accordingly. Why should I invest in a bow that's going to have this paint issue, that they ain't going to cover, and will irritate the end-consumer, and reduce any possible resale value down the road.

When you pay that much for a bow you shouldn't have the finish peeling off.

I think some of you guys are like the moto x guys I used to ride with, they primped and curled their bikes and if the track or trail was to muddy or rocky and might mess with their finish they just stayed home. I have a destroyer 350 and shot the crap out of it, sure it started peeling on the limbs because they do that. Haven't been to the dealer and haven't bashed it on here and it won't stop me from enjoying the wonderful bow that it is.

The demo we have shows no sign of this problem- the anorock finish is different.

ok so my first bow was a bowtech assassin it had no issues.
i just picked up a new invasion, if it has paint issues i will be very sad.

Padgettt i am one of the moto guys you speak of, i will use/ride said toy as hard as i can but in the end it cost me lots of hard earned $$$$ so i want it to look like new as long as i can keep it that way.

When you buy a new car and the paint peels is it OK because it runs just fine?

Bummer -- i have a 2010 Bowtech - Ross Carnivore with the Invelvet coating with camo on it and it is amazing stuff i think. It's a dip and not a sprayed on product like paint and clear coat . If they just put a solid color of Invelvet like black or other colors that would solve the problem possibly . This isn't a question of limbs breaking , but , the outer coating of paint , sealer , clear coat that chips off the edges when the limbs flex .
Take for instance if you bend a piece of rubber , then bend a piece of 1/8 " glass - you know what happens . Clear coat and base coat paints aren't meant to bend .
I might get flamed and burned for this post but i think this is the issue that is possibly showing up.
I have not personally held the new Insanity as i can not afford one but just follow the threads on a new cool bow.
Maybe someday ???? i will buy a used one for $400 - 2 years from now.

um BECAUSE!!! if i spend a grand on a damn bow...i want it perfect! that is just rediculous! WE ALL KNOW that it doesnt affect the way it shoots, but some of us like our thousand dollar bows to LOOK nice too....and it is rediculous that they wont address it just because it is not covered under warranty...bowtech will never get another penny of mine, and im pretty sure if they keep up the insanity(pun intended) that they will lose alot of customers! i have shot alot of different bows, and i love...well did love bowtech, but this is just like a spit in the customers face, to me.... i was absolutely set on buying a new insanity, but no way in hell will i buy another bowtech....ever. no offence to you Kieth, but i think most of us want our bows to be WORTH the money we pay for them, and if a company, ANY company simpley refuses to fix something, they should not be in business, period. most companies will bend over backwards, and sometimes even take a loss, to keep thier customers happy...bowtech has NEVER looked at it like this, and i think they will end up losing because of it.

Very true , why buy a truck and know the paint is going to flake off like GM had many years ago .
Ooop's i just aged myself . Beretta , k-1500 , 1992 give or take , clear coat flew off like my shedding lab. Just sayin , i wouldn't spend a grand on something that will likely fail with it's appearance . I want my sh;;. to look nice even it has mud and blood on it.

the anorock finish is on the riser, not the limbs - the hardcore limb finish is NOT fixed

No, not really...I can see that it is a big purchase but everyone is acting like the finish flies off the limbs the first time the bow is shot. Maybe I am not familiar with the "newer" bowtechs but I own two of them(an 08 and an09) and the finish seems to hold up fine. It does have some flaking but for a hunting bow I would expect that, they don't have an easy life.

Did the finish durability get worse in the last two years?

So if the clear coat was flaking off your new truck would feel the same? After all it doesn't affect the mechanical part of the vehicle.

I guess I have missed out on these issues. I have been selling the bowtechs since 2004 and have not seen any of these finish problems you guys are talking about.
