    Season starts saturday. I'm ready!!

Have the whole week off, so hope to spend most of it in the blind. Just got a call from my buddy, he reports its been raining for a week but the birds are still gobbling and he's seen a couple of dandies.

my boy killed a 23lb limhanger today- 12" bead, 1-1/4 spurs. we had 5 longbeards hang up 15 yards behind the blind while a jake walked through the deocys this morning. We let the jake walk, and the longbeards walked too. i don't know what happened- something didn't look right to them i guess...?

2 jakes for me this year so far. going back in a few weeks looking for a long beard.

Well you are doing better then me hoping to get back out this weekend but we'll see. My wife has been working alot on the weekends so I have both kids. It is hard enough to keep the 7 year old quiet then add the 5 year old in. I would have just as much luck shooting them in bed.

    Magnus Bullheads

    Dead on Contact...

I'm not going to go into much detail on this jake because I'm really hoping for a bigger bird on my next hunt. I just wanted to show some blood!

It was cold, it was wet and it rained hard for 3 days. The weather has changed and I'll be going back to CA in 2 weeks. If this ends up being my best bird, I'll be pretty embarrassed to post the score! However, it's not about scores for me, it's the thrill of a turkey at 7 yards and meat in the freezer!

If anyone that hasn't used a Magnus Bullhead on a turkey hunt yet and is wondering how they work, here are a few pics of the damage done at 7 yards. I missed the decap by about .75" on this bird.

The Bullhead went completely through the skull, cut his neck almost completely in half and essentially skinned most of his head! The Bullhead was not the least bit damaged. I'll use it again on my next hunt in a couple of weeks.

The tongue hanging out of the bottom of his neck is a classic pic!

The Bullheads are extremely brutal on turkey heads. I killed my first bird with them last year. They are by no means the only way to kill a turkey, but they're the only head I'll be using.
