    Womens hunter class ASA question

Does the 14 ring count in the ASA womens hunter class? My wife is planning on going to Augusta and this will be her first ASA shoot and was wondering.

Actually the 14s are not in play for this class. You can read rules on www.asaarchery.com
ASA had some rule changes for the 2012 year.

I have looked through the rules and dont see which it is. I know they changed this year for the bow novice class and the 14 is not in play but need to find out for sure for the womens hunter class. Thanks

I also have looked through them several times...I brought them to work with me...I am thinking it is at the discretion of Mike. He will make the call at the meeting before the first days shoot....but I am gonna keep looking.

Arrows in the corresponding area of the target will be scored with point values of 5, 8, 10, 12 or 14 as shown in the diagram below. Each target will have two (2) 12-rings, but only one will be scored in each round as specified by the Tournament Director. Knowing the correct 12-ring for that day’s competition is the responsibility of the shooter prior to beginning the round. The use of the 14-ring will be determined by the Tournament Director for each round of competition and will be announced at the Safety Meeting prior to the first round. (Insert target diagram here)

This is how it is worded in the the rules so you will have to be at the safety meeting to find out. Also the range officials will know, you can always ask them.

Found this in the forum on the ASA website:
"14-Ring Scoring in 2012: In addition to the Pro Classes, all Eagle classes, Traditional, and all 30-yard classes including the Bow Novice, Young Adult Pins, Women’s Hunter, Youth Pins, Youth Boys and Youth Girls will not be scoring the 14-Ring in competition this year".
