    New shooter from SW Washington

    Hi all,
I'm completely new to Archery (almost... I got a Ben Pearson recurve (20lb?) when I was twelve.. but I still have it!) I got the bug to check it out a little while back. I picked up an old Bear Whitetail Hunter (late 70's?) with newer pin sights for 15.00 at a garage sale. I grabbed a release on craigslist, 1/2 dozen arrows and target tips. It still needs a new rest and a peep sight. I put a few arrows thru it but plan to take down to a local archery shop to have it checked out.
Anyway.. I want to stay low budget until I decide if I'm really an archer.............
    looking forward to your advice!

I've heard good and bad about the Whisker biskit... But I see what you mean. Walmart is clearing out theirs for summer and they have them for $30. I think I'd have to drill and tap the bow for it to work but that's probably OK? I was looking at a stick-on Flipper II, it would go on in the same place as the original rest.

    Welcome, Russ!

I'm just down the road from you here in Vancouver. Which shop were you planning to take the bow to for service?

Good choice. I like that place. Good selection and staff. The prices aren't the best I have seen, but they are good enough. They also have an indoor range, in case you didn't know. Maybe I'll see you around!

Welcome to AT and greetings from Lincoln County.
Lord, I thank You for the opportunity to go out on the hunt. I thank You for the time alone to think and reflect on life. I thank You for the time with hunting friends, enjoying good fellowship, good stories, meals and drinks. Thank You for the beauty seen during the hunt and for the game taken and shared. I thank You especially for a safe hunt for myself and for all the hunters who share the field. AMEN.
