If you could hire any coach for an archery class, who would it be?
Our local shop owner and I were talking about doing a weekend archery class. Hiring some really great coach to come out and put on a clinic. Who would you recommend?

What type of crowd are you expecting? Target archers? Indoor or outdoor; Hunters? 3-D shooters? Are your archers mixed crowd, new or experienced? Are you looking for low budget or high end or does cost even matter?
In no particular order; George Ryals, Nuts & Bolts (Alen), MJ Rodgers,
I have worked with these three guys at different times and all three have a deep understanding of archery. All three have different things to offer in a unique form of teaching. I would contact them and see who you feel will fit the bill as you need it.
George is GRIV and he can be found through GRIV tech or the Archery Learning Center.
Alen aka Nuts & Bolts is on archery talk as a matter of fact he replied to you thread.
MJ Rodgers works with the NFAA and can be reached by calling the NFAA head quarters.
These three guys carry themselves very professionally, You wouldn't mind if a child or your mother sat in on the class. They try and mold there way of speaking to the level of the crowd. These guys can fit pretty much every aspect of archery. Olympic to Hunting you want be disappointed.
Good luck and I hope that this helped.
keep us informed I might want to travel for a weekend.

- OMG! Did you see that arrow? No?? "Laugh".... Well.. Neither did he !!!
- Feed a person, they'll eat for the moment/day. Teach someone to hunt and they'll eat for a lifetime

been to griv's and wise's. both bring something to the table. as someone posted above, it kind of depends on your audience.
Can you point me toward the target, please?

I've gone down to GA a couple times to work with GRIV, great guy and knows his stuff. I've met some of the other guys and they are all just as friendly and funny... depending on the number of shooters you have will change your options. Griv has a 12 person min for his class(pretty sure its 12) as do some of the others
678-901-9861, here's the number for ALC.. Not sure if George is back from FL yet, worst thing is you have to leave a message with his dad to have him call

Griv's has proven he can make Champions...in archery he can get you a Bowl in short time...how many other coaches are production National Champions at a rate of 2 or more a year....I don't "think" any are!
but Master Dee has coached the Vary Best in the Wilde Boys>>Fact<<lol
I'm convinced that you can't make everyone happy.
So I'll just have to be content to confuse, annoy, and offend all of you.
