A few from last year. Looks like we will have a few good spots but we will just have to see what this rain does. Gonna have to have a colder year thank last.

I put my cam out in another spot this week....going to check it tomorrow or Thursday. I think the pigs might have taken over this spot though. I know some real nice bucks hang out here in the fall, but not sure about the summer months.

Glad to see some other southern boys on here. I've been looking for a thread like this. Hard to relate with all these midwesterners who get to shoot massive deer all the time.

x2 on that....my buddy just told me earlier they have been watching a deer for the last three years that's already 180" this year lol. I was a little embarrassed to show him what ive got on camera down here.

Na it's a whole different world down here. We have to work twice as hard and be more patient for a deer they would consider average. We got more deer.... just not as big

How do y'all think the acorn crop will be this time. Last few years it has been good and my early season hunting has sucked. I don't know what all this dry weather and then all this rain will do to it i personally hope the crop is a little off so I can find that one hot tree and Hunt it.

Yeah i've noticed that too. Last year was a good acorn crop and I really didn't have too much success with that. I'm thinking if its another warm winter it may be the same story this year. I don't know if there was just too many other things for them to eat on or if there were just so many acorns falling but I noticed there were more than usual that never got ate and ended up going bad.

The last deer was killed by a roadhunter and is now property of Alabama Game Wardens. Ive got a pic of him outta velvet and dead in the back of said poachers truck before the game wardens took it.

You and me both ! As much as I cannot wait for the bow opener ... I also dread sitting in 90 degree heat , pouring sweat , and swatting the dadburn mosquitoes !!!

Haha , yep ! Does that Thermacell work pretty good for you ? Does it have any smell ? I've got to get something figured out to keep this dudes OUT of my ears this season ... Sounds like a dog fight from World War 2 ! Lol !

Thermacell is the best thing since sliced bread for warm or hot weather hunting! They do have some scent but i've seen and shot my fair share of animals with one running....never seems to bother them.

You can't go wrong with a thermacell I love mine. I would much rather deal with the smell it puts off than swatting flies and mosquitoes. I can take them flying around but can't stand when they try to get in your ear or your eyes.
