Been a lot of work but sure has been fun!
History:
My Dad planted pines on the property about 30 years ago...they are nasty and I hate them! Nothing grows in and around them...and the raptors sit in them and pick off chicks! So I've been battling them.
This spring I took out a row of 14 to expand an open area into a food plot.

Here is the area last March. It only took a couple hours to down the trees, but the rest of the day cutting and hauling!

Here is how it looked last tuesday. I fertilized on went along the shaded areas and replanted chicory and clover. The after thought is that's going to be a problem next year..it will complicate the plowing process!
Oh well. Deal with that next year. The rains have been perfect! The stuff is growing well...and it should REALLY take off with the fertilizer.
