DeerSmasher summed up how to win imo....kill does and consistent participation by team members. I haven't been in the contest for several years, but was in the past. We are definitely blessed with location as Alan pointed out. That is good and bad because many of us will probably eat a buck tag before shooting a small one. That is why killing a doe or two is important and the big bucks will be gravy! With that said, it is just for bragging rights so just go have fun!!

I've put up points every year but we do need consistent participation like everyone has said.

One buck doesn't win it, last year a teammate of mine scored a 201" but we had 6 guys go scoreless.

    Just have some fun

Please make sure that you take a picture with at least your bow in it. We had a guy on my team last year who shot like a 170" deer and had a bunch of pictures, but none with his bow. There was one that had his bow in it, but it was on its way to taxidermy shop and the deer was already caped out.

Only cost us a couple spots and it is not like it really matters anyway. Don't forget, if you shoot a second doe for meat every year that you can score 2 doe as well.

Checking in.I'm in East Central Ohio.I've been been doing this every year since it started.I've always been on the all star list sice they started it.I have been on the winning team once and 2nd place twice.2ND sucks. To be that close and lose a doe short can be hard to swallow. As said before, team participation is what makes this fun.I have not checked my cameras yet.My big boys never show up untill the velvet starts to come off.Looking forward to a good year.

Alright Guys, looks like I'm the last one to check in! I live and hunt in PA, but I'm planning on moving to the U.S. Virgin Islands in December so I'm taking a lot of days off this year to spend in the woods before I leave. I have some nice pictures from the cams so far this summer, I'll try to post them sometime this weekend! Looking forward to a great season.

I did find out I can archery hunt on the island of St.Croix...apparently they have some type of deer there. So my season won't be over when I move!!!
