Rating 10 out of 10
Went out on the new Summit Viper Elite SD. GREAT stand! I'm not sure how a stand can get much better. Considering the areas and short cuts that have to be taken in order to achieve a 16lb stand, this stand is PHENOMINAL!
Built like a tank!
Easily connected to tree, packed, & unpacked.
Nice sound deadening material!
Grabs the tree nice and feels very secure.
Very easy to climb up and down!
2 areas that are good and very acceptable but not great....
the shoulder straps are good, nice camo color, operate well but are not the most comfortable.
The seat is mesh or a cloth material. Good and strong with reinforced straps underneath but I've noticed it could get a little uncomfortable after 7-8 hours of sitting. But with that said.... 7-8 hours doing anything can be uncomfortable. I've never sat on anything for that amount of time without having some aches or cramps of some kind.
My personal rating 10 out of 10!
After going out this year on opening day. I climbed up in my old deer stand and was reminded why I said I need a new one.
I currently have an old steel Strong Built, Inc stand that was built in my home state. Waterproof, LA. Who is also out of business because of injury lawsuits.
It weighs about 35lbs.
It has NO side grip on the tree. Only 2 half inch spikes that are in the very center about 2" apart. So when you step on the side it will easily flip you. It almost happened and I almost got to test out my new Hunter Safety System harness!
Its 16lbs, round tubing, tubes are filled with expanding foam for quietness, powedwr coated with camo colors, and should be a pretty decent stand.
Its normally a $400+ stand. Got it for 280 free shipping. VMINNOVATIONS.Com
