PSE thunderbolt FPS way low
I am shooting a PSE Thunderbolt its says the IBO speed is around 278 or 300 depending on which version you have. I'm not sure which mine is but my bow is set at 70lbs with 29 inch draw and on the chrono reading I shot 184 fps. This seems very low to me anyone know what might be causing this. The arrows im shooting are from walmart for 3 dollars they are 29 inch and i had a 100 grain field point tip.

What cams are on it? Are they round wheels? If they are round wheels you have the slower version. Are they in synchronization?
Does it have plastic coated steel cables or fast flight cables?
What is the "measured" drawlength and draw weight? You need to be accurate here.
What is the "measured" weight of the arrows? Again, we need accurate.
Any chance you can post pictures of this bow?

not enough info to determine if you are right. Need minimum arrow weight, true dl and dw.
Pics would be nice.

$(KGrHqZ,!loF!ILZ(eRCBQWJQmOo!g~~60_35.JPG, The draw weight is 70lbs and length is 29inch. I don't know what the arrow weight is but even if it was around 500 grains. It seems 184 fps would be on the very low side.

That cam looks weird, like it's on backwards or something.

Did someone restring it with a very short string?

I did an image search and it appears your cam is very, very far out of rotation, like someone put a very short string on it. That would shorten the DL, lower the DW and cause both speed issues and make it shoot horrible (bad nock travel).

Thanks for the reply, I'll take it up to the archery shop tommorow and see what they can possibly do.

Have the shop look at the string length and make sure it matches the limb sticker length. I'm betting it doesn't and it's a couple inches short.
