A little high placement in chest area, how long to wait??

I just shot a nice sized buck, my shot was a little high, pry inbetween the heart and the bottom of spin, the arrow didnt pass thru. When it hit he scooped down and took off an turned and I could see the end of the arrow sticking out of the other side just a bit below the middle of the chest and back a few inches from heart? How long should I wait, I shot him at 5:15pm tonight and it is now 7:15pm, I waited 30 min then found the where i hit him and stopped when I go to the fenc which was maybe 30 yards....Im excited and nervous at the same time! so should I go look now 2hrs later?

Two hours is good only if you're 100% sure of where you hit him.

How many's a few inches from the heart? Are we talking guts? Otherwise it sounds like a lung shot and you should be in good shape now already.

I would go now. If you see where your deer laid down and then took off again I would then back out. But if you got a pass through and see bubbles in the blood, your deer will be dead.

After I read this I was out the door and looky what I found! I actually shot a little farther back than I thought, but his liver was sliced, and he didn't goo too much farther just when he went out of sight, he pretty much went down. Hardly any blood really got me worried when we started tracking. I'm super pumped! Thanks for the advice!!
