Cool deer that a good buddy of mine shot yesterday!!!

Here is a shed from this deer that his neighbor found last year.

But nobody had ever laid eyes on this deer, or even got him on camera. Yesterday my buddy went out and hunted, and this deer came walking in at 20 yards. He said it had a really bad broken and infected leg, so he went ahead and took him out. It is one of the most unique deer i have ever seen!

    Would rather be hunting..

Bet that rack is a result of the damaged leg. Glad he could end its suffering. Will make a unique mount, congrats.

Obviously he was chasing a Roadrunner, which painted a train tunnel on the side of a mountain, and the buck smashed in to it while still in velvet. No other way that can occur.

Please explain.... unless the leg was damaged and infected for 2 years there is no way the deers current injury played any part in the antler growth from the year before.

It is very probable that his injury has been ailing him for a few years... Here are some pics of the deer when he was cleaning it. He said it was missing an inside loin on one side, and his backstrap was virtually non existant also. You can tell by his leg that he obviously was hit by a car or something like that..

    Would rather be hunting..
