My First DS Advantage product...new arrow rest

I have been admiring the DS Advantage target sight for years.

When I heard mention of a new DS Advantage blade launcher arrow rest...
I said..I gotta get me one of these.

    Fit and finish is flawless.

    Dovetailed ways. Super tight dovetails.

    Axle is WAY HEAVY DUTY.

2-inches of adjustment on the axle, when the right end of the axle is flush with the arrow rest body.

Nice handy knobs, with click detent micro adjust...
so NO TOOLS to adjust horizontal
so NO TOOLS to adjust vertical.

FLUSH mounted LOCKDOWN set screws, for HORIZ and for VERT,
once you find YOUR setting. Absolutely PERFECT.
My "other" blade rest also has micro click adjustment, but no lock down feature.

My "other-other" blade rest has micro adjustment, NO CLICK adjustment, with SUPER TINY/SKINNY adjustment knobs, but it has a lock down bolt.
    So,
    with my "other-other" blade rest,
    gottta do the TWO-STEP..

    find the allen key,
    unlock the lock down bolt
grab the tiny 1/8th diameter knurled knob
and judge a 1/16th turn or a 1/8th turn of the SUPER SKINNY TINY knob
and then carefully lock down the set screw, after I pull out the correct hex wrench..

    then,
    put away the hex wrench,
    and then shoot
    and then
    pull out the hex wrench,
loosen the lock down set screw
turn the SUPER SKINNY TINY knob,
    adjust the arrow rest,
    then,
    lock down the set screw...

    you get the idea.

    The DS Advantage arrow rest,
    has CLICK settings,
    with the SUPER LARGE knob..

    NO TOOLS,
so you can leave the lock down set screw bolt LOOSE
and the CLICK DETENT knob STAYS in position...

so NO NEED to lock down the set screw/bolt,
cuz of the CLICK DETENT feature...

    just tune,
    adjust the knob ONE CLICK
    and tune some more
and ADJUST the knob say TWO CLICKS the other direction
    and then
    tune some more,
    change your mind,
and go back ONE CLICK in the original direction,
    and decide its GOOD...

    and then,
    now,
    ONE TIME,
    find the hex wrench
and lock down the set screw / bolt.

    HEAVEN.

Machine work is near medical device grade quality.

Blade angle appears to be adjustable. Is it a 'standard' loose clamp design, or can it me micro-adjusted like the SH Edge?

Does it accept all standard blades, like the 'best blade'?

I use one of Detlef's sights and they are as good as it gets, I'm sure the quality of his rest will be the same. Anyone that appreciates quality will love it.

Not loke the Spot Hogg Edge.

Double clamp on the 1/4-inch diameter axle. No micro adjust for blade angle.
    I usually use a protractor.

Spacing on the two bolts is 5/16ths....center to center.

    Thanks.

    Does it come with a blade(s)? Size(s)?

My First DS Advantage product...new arrow rest

The rest is really nice. I have been messing around with mine for a week or so now. When not locked down the rest is still super tight. Amazing fit and finish

I like the looks. It appears solid and well made, I like the adjustments and where they're located (should work great on TEC risers) and I really like that rod that holds the blade and how it appears to be adjustable in regards to blade angle. Overall it looks nice.

    What's it cost?

How does this rest compare to the Brite Site Pro Tuner verticlick rest?
Does the Brite Site one have a lockdown feature like this one does?
Hoyt Vantage Elite, Spirals Shibuya Sight, Doinker Platinum Hi Mods, Shrewd mounts, Stan Release
Hoyt Ion-X Recurve, Formula 720 carbon limbs, Shibuya Sight, Fuse Carbon Blades
No more punching I've used a hinge since my 1st month and am not looking back
Just developed a stronger anchor with my recurve and LOVING the smaller groups!

The BriteSite ProTuner has a knob to click adjust the horizontal setting (centershot).
    No lock down.

The Spot Hogg Premier arrow rest, has no click adjust, just a tiny knob to adjust horizontal and vertical,
but the Spot Hogg Premier does have a lock down allen bolt...

so the Spot Hogg Premier is a three step micro adjust procedure...
    unlock the bolt,
grab the super skinny, tiny knob and adjust (no click...just judge a 1/16th or 1/8th or 1/4 turn)
    then, lock down the bolt...

    shoot groups,
    unlock the bolt,
grab the super skinny, tiny knob and adjust (no click...just judge a 1/16th or 1/8th or 1/4 turn)
    then, lock down the bolt...

With the Brite Site Pro Tuner,
very handy click adjust for the center shot...
    no lock down, however,
    but,
just grab the knob and make one click adjustment in one direction
    or
make a two click adjustment in the other direction.

Very handy....just make sure NO ONE ever touches your arrow rest settings.

    As field14 would say,
we ALL should have the arrow rest centershot measurements WRITTEN DOWN in our log book,
so.... a lock down bolt should not be necessary.

The DS Advantage arrow rest has LARGE knobs,
with an ARROW indicating which direction is UP
with an ARROW indicating which direction is DOWN

with an ARROW indicating which direction is LEFT
with an ARROW indicating which direction is RIGHT.

The click detents hold the knob in position,
so you can CLICK adjust away....horizontal or vertical...

and when you are DOWN tuning the DS Advantage arrow rest,
    then,
you can SNUG up the lock down bolt,
    WHEN you are finished.

ONE STEP lock down, at the END of tuning.

    Fantastic design.

I look forward to installing this on the DST 40,
and swapping out the Spot Hogg Premier arrow rest.

Nuts&Bolts, fantastic side by side comparison!

Garceau, Post #9 already said it was around $100

Also, how micro adjustable is it really? Brite Site says theirs is .003" per click. Can the DS advantage do this?

It sounds like I am leaning towards the DS advantage rest over the brite site one.

Does it have a variety of blade sizes? Or at least come with one (some)?

For those that aren't reading all the posts Detlef quoted me $100 shipped to my door. The following is an exact quote from him to me in a PM.

"when I decided to build a rest I wanted something simple and solid
the adjustments are micro with lock down
I use dovetails just like on my sights
the angle of the blade is adjustable but only manually
I do make my own blades but I made them to standard so the can also be bought
the price right now is 100$ and free shipping I try to get it out there and tested as much as possible"

That being said I didn't ask about the lanchers but as he stated you should be able to use any blade on it. I'll have one of these by years end.

VFT I didn';t ask about colors but I would have to assume he could do that as he does with his sights. Maybe an upcharge but I would PM him and ask for the definite answer.
