World rec is over 80 lbs. MO record is 73 lbs (I think). Don't know about IL...but that is a heck of a fish you shot!

Around here they're illegal to shoot. Nice one though! Gonna smoke it?

Dude, where are those coming from? I know you probably won't say exactly, but how about river, lake, private lake?

Hey Robin, I seen on the "Pics" thread that a guy was shooting really big grass carp and said he hoped they didn't "pop off".....could you tell us what you use to hold those big buff's and grassies on with?.....do you shoot one arrow head exclusively or do you change for different species.....I use Muzzy's and have never lost any, but my friend has....just wondering what you guys use to hold those big fish on with.....thanks, Kelly

record here in arkansas is around 80 lbs. we always just shoot a muzzy and try to get another arrow in it as quick as we can. as far as i can see there isnt another head thats going to out perform the muzzy

As I said in the favorite head thread...Muzzy is the only point in my boat, always.

For me, smaller fish are harder to hold than the big ones. Also, grassies are fish that shot placement is critical. Hit them low and/or back, and you are likely to loose them...the belly is just too soft. For that reason, I always aim for the gill plate on a grassie.

semi- private 225 acre lake. I have found a grassy mecca. They put so many in this lake many years ago, that it was weedless for about 5 or 6 years. The fish would actually whale up partially on shore to get a bit of anything green. These are old old fish
