    Prime Defy mini review

Received a Prime defy bought off AT today. Set it up and put a few arrows through it. bow is 28" 70lb measured 28 1/8 on draw board. Overall fit and finish is superb. Draw is very smooth to a solid wall with a good valley. Very low recoil or vibe at the shot. Sound was tough to tell because I was inside, have not had a chance to shot it outside yet.
tuned very easy at 13/16 cs with a 350 spine arrow

Speeds were much better than expected, exceed IBO:
All arrows were with 16 grains on string including a peep and dloop:

Arrow weight Pact Chrono Shooting Chrony
    350 310 314
    396 294 297
    418 287 290

I will have a review in a week or so of a Prime impact to compare

Nice review! Can't wait to get mine. What do you think my speeds will be at 60lbs and a 29"dl?

I just got mine after trading in a DNA that I could not get to tune properly. Not to hijack your thread, but I was getting 305ish with a 385 grain arrow at 29/70. I will type up a review this weekend. I cant believe how easy this bow tunes.

Sorry I should have been more specific. I was curious what the speeds would be with the same arrow weights that he posted. Just trying to get an idea of what arrow weight will keep me in the mid 280's or higher with the max arrow weight.

Sounds like a great little hunting rig! How well does it hold on target compared to other bows you have?

At 60/29 I would expect you to still be 280 with a 400 gr arrow

Just to let you know, my G5 peaked right under 70#'s. Last years went way over (75 on 70 limbs) and they changed that so that peak is really peak.

Shane, it peaked at 72 # and we have it set at 70. I am glad that I decided to trade in the DNA for the Defy.

The draw is very smooth and consistent(Much smoother and not as stiff as the 2012 Prime Shift). It rolls over into a nice valley and holds on target effortlessly. I liked it better than my old Heli-M and 2012 Prime Shift. The setup and tuning is soooooo simple. I picked it up last night and eyed the centershot. I obtained a bullet on my third shot through paper with a Maxima Hunter 350 with both 100 grain and 125 grain tips. I adjusted my sight then it was on to broadheads. I screwed a PHAT Head SOB on my Maixma Hunter 350 and at 30 yds it was the same point of impact as the field point. I think this bow will be hard to beat for hunting. The fit and finish of the Prime bows are second to none. I think the Defy will be around in my fleet for a while.
