I got a custom string made for me. Later i found out that it was made using 20 strands
Can i get 4 strands to cut to 16 strands and reserved? I don't want to throw away an unused string.
Did you switch around the words "get" and "cut" in your question? If the question is "Can I cut 4 strands to get to 16 strands from 20 strands?" no, I would not cut 4 strands out of an endless loop bowstring.
Well he obviously didn't buy a string because he has a string jig... I'm certain that if the string maker did a good job it won't slip, also the center serving will aid in keeping it all together.
I shot a string with 2 strands cut out and shot with it over a year(+-46# 31.5") , left a 1/4 inch tag end on both ends just to see IF it would slip but it didn't.
Try some end serving.....it's used more than you think
