    What makes a loud bow

What makes a bow sound loud? My old one sounded like a 22 going off without cat whiskers..

I was shooting my Mauler today and I don't know if I just noticed it or it's new.. but there is a "tang" when shooting it. It isn't loud but noticeable to me at least...

I am going to order cat whiskers and play around putting them on the string and cables to see if I can cancel that tang out.

Vibration is what makes the noise. There are many sound deadening materials out there much better than cat whiskers. Limbsaver makes a complete line of sound deadening products as well as many others to choose from.
