Measuring arrow length for spine chart?

When measuring the arrow for proper spine do you measure the arrow from the nock throat to the tip of the insert or from carbon to carbon?

If you are using archery software,
    like OnTarget2!...

use the carbon tube to carbon tube length...(do not include any length from the arrow nock).

Carbon to carbon for proper "Shaft length". Be advised, however that by design, the charts run "stiff". It helps with liability concerns. Those charts are a "guide" and NOT gospel as to what will work the best with your setup. There are too many variables involved for a guide selection chart to get things perfect.
