In the blind right now. Finally hunting after some struggles with weather and finding a new spot. This spot is just ours for the day and they've asked us to fill only one tag each. Lotsa birds though. Just passed on a quintet of jakes dancing with my DSDs at 6 yards. Here they are posing for a pic. Hope I don't regret that later.

Jakes were trying my patience so I finally popped one. I won't bother posting him on the scoreboard. There will be more.

You can only score one bird per person. Honestly if this is my best bird this Spring just shoot me now. Gotta be the scrawniest jake I've ever shot. That said, I always err on the side of caution so I took a pic. I was running out of the only day I had on this property and decided I'd passed enough jakes for the day. The next one to wander by was getting it. This guy drew the short straw.

Well I went to check on my blind and some asshat stole it with two chairs and a mr heater propane heater in it. Needless to say I'm pissed. It was the only way I could take my kids Turkey and deer hunting comfortably. It wasn't a real expensive blind but I'm not rich and I work hard for what I have. I hope I find the scumbag!

That really sucks Jtrader. I have a visceral reaction to thieves that isn't pretty. Makes me want to pick up a baseball bat and swing til my arms are sore. Hope you find 'em.

Nothing lower than somebody willing to take a man's blind.

Took my Father out this morning and at first light had a nice Tom come in to 11 yards, the old man was to shoot first but the turkey offered me a better shot. So I blew a hole right thru his back, all feathers.
He ran about ten yards and then approached the decoy again, he was pretty nervous so I opted not to shoot. I have the rest of the season, hopefully the weather gets better.
    Good Luck everyone

Sounds like you were only a couple inches off from a dead bird Jim. Plenty of season left. Get em next time!

First bird down, one tag left. Hope to get a bigger one. I thought this was a bigger Tom when he came in, the one he was with must have been a dink.
