Upon further examination, Jim's bird puts us in third place. By this time Friday, I hope to have bumped us into second...

Good Luck in SD, nock down a big one. Ill be hunting every weekend here on out trying to get my dad and oldest son a bird, Im sure Ill get a crack at another one, hopefully in the 60's.
That leading team has three birds over 60, that's impressive.

Greeting the sunrise in a blind in Nebraska right now. In a valley that should be erupting in gobble thunder right now and I have yet to hear a single cluck or gobble. Just deer that keep blowing at me. Not sure what to make of the turkey silence. There have been at least 150 birds roosting in this valley for the past month. Oh well. Whatever it means there's no where else I'd rather be right now.

Long day. No birds. Never even picked up my bow. Try again tomorrow. This time in South Dakota.

Points is points. You can always upgrade.

Good job!!!! It's 85 here, feels like 100 in my blind. No dekes tonite just set up in a alley way they travel to what we call the hidden acre. I broke out my holzrichter badger recurve. We'll see how it goes.

Posted on the score thread my bird from SD a couple days ago - 59 and change. Tough weekend. Probably shouldn't have been passing jakes in hindsight. Only stuck the one bird. He went a little better than I thought with a little help from a couple of long beard hairs and a lot of curve in the hooks. Still not a biggie but I'm having a tough year. Doubtful I'll get back to fill my unused SD and NE tags. Just my WI tag left now. That'll be early May. Good luck everyone who's about to head out in the next couple weeks!!

Lookin good.....better watch your back, looks like someone is eyeing you up....

Quick question....do you shoot through that mesh or is it lowered? What broadhead are you using....

Good deal on the bird, my dad missed one on sunday morning. He's a good shot. seen him shoot deer and elk.....something about those Turkey's though. I think were gonna rename the hidden acre to feather alley, a lot birds get away back there just losing a few feathers.
    There is always next weekend.

    Thanks guys.

Yes, I have been shooting through the mesh the past couple years now. Especially with deer. It makes them less spooky about the blind than if there are big holes. But the last year I have with turkeys too. I got busted a couple of times with large groups of birds so I've been keeping it up. My Slick Trick mags blow through it like it's not even there, with zero effect on flight. The trick is to make sure the mesh is loose. Tight mesh will mess with arrow flight. Loose, not at all really.

    Good luck everybody!

Taking my 9 yo son in MN this weekend, but it's just him hunting. He's looking to tag his first bird ever. I'm still two weeks out from my next tag going live (May 7 in WI). What about the rest of you guys who are waiting to for your season? What's your launch date?
