I am using a hardcore wrist release to shoot with now but gave been thinking about going to the four finger hand held version with rotating head or should I just stay with what I have ? I guess my question is I've had guys tell me I'll get better groups with hand held is this true...
It ain't magic, but I like it. I personally decided that dropping what could be two tanks of gas $$ on a peep and a clarifier lens (or even more than one) was not practical. If other folks like to mess with that, go for it.
With a small Fletcher peep, the target was blurry. I switched to the Nitehawk and couldn't be happier. This is a shot of my #3 peep through to the top limb. Notice how it's very clear.
Gonna be ordering some new arrows for the winter season, was thinking of trying easton's new X27's. They have been out for I think a year or so now. Want to know what guys thought of them, durability wise and what point weight and arrow length you are using. 20yrd spots are the use. thx
New off the shelf you can not find a straighter arrow. It's a slightly modified eclipse, better aluminum, and silver color.
Great indoor arrow, if you watch nearly every pro that shoots Easton arrows shoots the aluminums over carbon.
I did shoot in a shoot last weekend and Steve Anderson shot full bores. He said he knows what he can do with the aluminums but wanted to see how they preform. He won the shoot with a 600, and had to shoot off with kris Shaff, Paul Tedford,
For those that don't care for the spring steel blades what are you shooting? I have always shot Pro-Tuners but would like to shoot try something that cradles the arrow a bit more. I have had some nerve issues on my first end in the past and the blades tended to bounce more than I like. I have made some carbon blades that I liked but the durability was the issue.
I had the same issue using a 2009 Monster. When completing the draw just at the end of the valley, the arrow would bounce off. After 2-3 more very slow and careful draws, I was too exhausted to be steady. So i created more downward pressure on the shaft by adding another nock serving.
I use a Limb Driver drop rest. Something like Rabbit57 has, there should be enough downward pressure to keep the arrow in contact with the blade, or any rest for that matter. This is best achieved by using the arrow used without point weight.... I will say that bows with super hard walls, limb type draw stops, that hitting the wall can be quite jarring and learning to ease into the wall of importance.....
I got my new target bow and it is 43" ATA. I have a 27.5" draw and in the past this has given me a few issues with peep angles. Does anyone have an suggestions on what angle peep I should get. I may look into getting shorter limbs but for now I will be looking for a peep that might work.

Genesis peep, it is a ball, whenever the peep turnes somewhere you can still orient the inner ball insert back to be inline....
I have these on some of my bows with old strings, I toke a small drill size and can easily increase the aperture size because the inner ball insert is plastic
what sonny has wrote is excellent and is the what, where and how of peeps. that bow being 43 inches ata is a great length bow and you will shoot it better at that length over buying shorter limbs, short ata bows are ok for hunting but they don`t win much in the world of target archery. good luck,Pete53
I hope you bought the Kit because as you go to different venues both outdoor and indoor you will find the need to screw in different aperture's
from time to time. As your eyes age Lighting changes effect your accuracy a lot.
Just made the transition into field shooting and having a absolute blast with it. However, I would like to get some smaller diameter arrows to cut through the wind better. There are lots out there! And some with some rather large price tags. Which is a good arrow without breaking the bank for someone getting into field shooting?
