    Northeast Pa Spring Gobbler

    I got this guy at 39 yds this past friday. My first ever gobbler!!!! (I've got a few hens over the years)



    The stats:

    22 pounds
    6.5" beard
    7/8" spurs

    nice one, congrats!!! Where in NorthEast PA? I have a house in Digmans, just south of Milford, but do all my hunting on NJ side

    Yes, it was a 39 yard bow kill.....

    I've always had a problem getting them to come in close enough for a more "reasonable shot".... My dad says I must sound like a "lesbian hen" because the gobblers come in and watch from the bushes like a couple of pervs..... So I when put my blind out, I marked off 20, 30, 35, 40, and 45 yards in the field. He came in as close as 25 yards but didn't stop moving until he was just short of my 40 yard decoy, so that's where he was when I shot him...

    I live in Allentown but hunted turkey in Cresco Pa this season.

    Congrats nice bird try and put decoys closer to blind 10 yards is more then far enough away

    I put decoys out at 20/30/40 yards to use them as quick references for distance..... So you say I should put them at 10/20/30???

    nice i hunt up in tioga i have a cabin there really nice tom !
