I need to pack my salt in on foot, I was wondering if there are maybe 25# blocks somewhere. I imagine I could split a 50# block with no problem, but thought I'd ask.

Is fifty pounds of rock salt or a fifty pound block of salt or minerals best?

    I'm guessing minerals are best.

Man up, I carry my 50 pound blocks a half mile through corn. Lol

I have split blocks , harder than you think . I have had just as good luck with a bag of salt , easy to split.

I just use plain old salt blocks. I think they crave salt more than they do minerals. I have boughten a trace mineral block which was 98 percent salt they hit just as well as regular old salt.

I find a place where the ground is bear and pour it right on the ground.
Cover it with whole corn and BB2.

Once they find it they just keep coming back. Especially if it rains on it and soaks it into the ground.
I just put out a new batch 3 weeks ago and they have already dug a hole that's 6" deep.
This. I also just put some purina beef mineral which has the same stuff pretty much for 18$ a 50lb. Has a strong smell - will check the cameras in a couple weeks.

Wrap it in a towel and pack it in, in a back pack.

NP. It works and I spend the money on the di-cal for the mommas. Healthier the herd the better.
