I'm sorry Jenny, all of the above is against the Republican doctrine. Fox will not be happy with you.

Psh. If children don't get to work in mines when they're 6 years old, they grow up to be criminals!

I have no idea what you're referring to. I've never taken a labor day off. Guess I need to join a union?

Good. Seems like since forever employers have been thinking of ways to pay employees less and not care about working conditions.

Everyone have a great weekend!! Except for you corporate stooges, and small business owners that think everyone working for you should work 24/7 for peanuts, while you take the vacations.

Does that include the working bunch of retail?
or perhaps the gubnet workers who have no vacations off?
Or perhaps the idiotic bunch who continually state that all of the above was specifically union initiated.
    Gotya.

The claim of credit for all of the above is where I have a serious question.

Someone may want to research where each of those items came from.

Wait just a minute......I'm suppose to be taking vacations and pay the employees peanuts. ?.?......... Now someone tells me.

My cpa is gonna love me. I'm gonna become a Mormon tomorrow for the tax exempt status and I'm gonna start paying the employees peanuts. Hopefully she'll have those changes made by the time I get back from my vAcATiOn. <--Did I spell that correctly, I'm a bit unfamiliar with that word.

Unions are great if there is a high demand for the job and a low demand for the skills to do it.

If you have managed to cultivate skills that are in high demand by employers while being in a small pool of people that have those skills then your perks will be far greater than what's on the list.

If the unions were so altruistic they should have followed the jobs that moved to China because impractical wages and benefits and unionized over there. You can't mandate value.

    8 hr. workday....

Started by labor movements in the UK. Been around almost 200 years.

Strangely enough, under the New Deal it would have been a perm. Fed. thing, but the STANDARD is only an applied metric. In reality there is no actual limit to work hours. Only that over 40 must be considered OT for NON EXEMPT employees.

Being exempt I am on salary, so no OT..

And to think I work for the gubnet...

Just keep reciting to yourself, "I didn't build that...I didn't build that...I didn't build that...I didn't build that..." and pretty soon any notion of rewarding yourself for any work you probably didn't do in the first place will all go away.
