True, but what would the consequences be from instigating a serious terrorist attack on US soil for the terrorists? If they cause another 911 before the Presidential election, they're almost sure to get a Republican war hawk in the White House because the American people will be howling for retribution. If they bide their time until after the election they could possibly get another namby pamby Democrat with balls of cheese, and unlikely to do any more than what Obie has done. Then again, maybe they don't give a **** who's in the White House.

destroy the American super power by using all it's military resources and money up fighting non-country military terrorist groups so that Russian can go after the blocks they want.
i'll agree there. lots of chinese attacks. i've been wondering if all the target, home depot, etc system hacks and stolen customer info has anything to do with it.
i've had a lot of customers that have been getting calls from asian sounding people, "i am calling about the trouble you're having with your computer"
then they talk them into a "system analysis" promising to "clean up" the computer for free.. will take about 3 hrs. after 1-2 hours they want $99 then later they want $199 and before the call is up they want a total of $300. then threaten to "lock" the computer if they dont pay. typically i'd say its just a call center but the strange thing is, they wont give the name of the company or a return number for any reason.
i normally tell tele-salesman "please take me off your call list" or "please put me on your do not call list" but these statements dont do anything to these people. federal law requires any company to take you off their call list if you ask, being these guys dont it makes me think they arent in the US and dont care about the federal law.
a lot of customers are loosing monies from false charges after these calls.

Good topic Bluez...welcome to gen pop!

Putin will do nothing in the western block states. My old Scout Platoon jumped into Latvia and training advanced small unit tactics for a few months with their Army. U.S. Army Europe has a very close relationship with these countries. Our Special Forces are always in and around there also. Invading one of these places will cause a war, I guarantee it. Putin knew he could take Ukraine with little to no opposition both militarily and world view. Nobody will start a war with Russia to defend Ukraine. Putin is not stupid...he knows it would be huge if he decided to invade these countries.

Here are some pics the boys have posted of Latvia.

Our position is a precarious one. The notion of 11 jet liners missing from Libya has me intrigued.........Some people for whatever reason--that's it, they have no reasoning ability-- understand nothing but abject, unadulterated power. Mess with me and we will walk in kill everybody with a smile and walk out type power. It is how Israel still is standing. Their neighbors know that they don't care what the world thinks as the world is mostly in the hater crowd as well. Putin doesn't care what the world thinks, it seems to me. That is a dangerous thing, in my estimation. If only we had a guy in the White House who could look Putin in the eyes and see the good in him, maybe things would change--oh wait. We already had that. Maybe if we give him a gimmicky red button to push to "restart" (or was it detonate) our relationship.........Yeah, we had that too. Screw it.........I'm going to bed.

i'm still trying to work out what's the point of all this though i mean i see people saying "we should wipe them all out" wipe who out?
as long as people have free minds the world will have those who will do as they see fit an act on it

the only way of stopping "terrorism" is to wipe out every single human of the face of the earth.............either way i have my own problems
to worry about i don't need to add to them by worrying about something happening in some desert half a world away

The US can probably do fine with Russians annexing Crimea and pushing the Ukrainians around (not that I support it). But to me, Ukraine is not the main issue for US security. If Putin and the Russians calculate they can do all this with impunity and the US won't care enough to take any action, they will start (already have) to seriously threaten the much weaker Baltic NATO members. And if they were to attack a NATO member, that could (and in my opinion should) trigger a war. But the Russians may think it won't, and that is dangerous. And if the US, which despite its shrunken military is still the strongest NATO member, won't honor its commitments of defense, then NATO--an organization that was essential to keeping the peace in Europe and globally for all these decades--is finished. And if that's the case, watch out, because there's no alliance to replace it. And that is why Ukraine matters, and the Baltics matter even more. Peace is best guaranteed through strength.

The same. Or that time that Hillary handed them a big red button that was supposed to say "reset" in Russian but instead said explode or detonate or something of the sort.
Yep, democrat-republican, sure does matter.......well, it matters to the ruling class.

Well there's funny as in "That joke is funny." Then there is funny as in "I can't believe how dumb you are." funny. Not you, Matt, but you know what I mean.

I have to disagree with you there. It DOESN'T matter to the ruling class because they benefit no matter what. For everyone who accuses Obama of being a "communist" or "socialist," Wall Street is doing AMAZING under his presidency -- the Dow Jones average has gained 9,000 points since 2008 and has now reached its highest total ever. The party partitions are for the common people so they can argue and think of each other as idiots for not seeing everything the way they do.

I wouldn't get too caught up on wall street ct. You and I both know that it's juiced up with government spending. Only a matter of time before the pot boils over

It always boils over eventually. In the past, societies with this wide of a rich/poor gap started oiling their muskets and sharpening their guillotines. But Americans have a contingency of people who are being screwed by the wealthy who actually support the wealthy and think of them as virtuous and righteous because they hold the fantastical belief that one day they will be in that wealth bracket.
