DIY Wooden Platform/Stands Ideas or Plans

I got a buddy that is a big guy and I'm taking him to Kansas this year. The spot he is going to hunt doesn't have much for trees you can put a stout ladder stand in, but he needs to be up in the air. We took a tripod out there and that didn't work out to well during muzzle loader season. So I think we're going to build a wooden platform he can climb up into and either have a pop up blind on it or we'll put a prefab blind on it. Any pics or designs/plans would be appreciated. Also good platform size recommendations, or tips you learned that you'd apply to the next one you'd build. Thanks in advance.

I plan on using this same method. Here in Indiana all ground blinds have to be covered in Hunter Orange during any firearm's seasons. But, if they are more than 4 feet off the ground they do not have to have orange on them. I'm going to put my ******* Bale Blind at 4.5 feet and surround it with real round bales. Great idea...

Well it's wicked thick so we thought about using 2, 14' or 16' foot 4x4 posts and cutting them in half, so roughly 7-8 feet up.

Ended up building this. Cut a cedar limb to somewhat camo that corner which you can see from the road. Took the platform out there and installed the legs, built the ladder and anchored it down with two tposts, wire, and a ratchet strap. It is rock solid.

Yeah, I should have put down a parts list in that post.

4 - 4"x4"x8' treated
3 - 2"x6"x12' treated
2 - 4'x8' treated plywood 3/4"

7 - 2"x4"x12'

Elevators from Menards
40 - 5/16" Lag screws with washers
2 tposts
box of 3" deck screws
wire
ratchet strap
pack of wood shims

Cut the 3 2x6s in half to build the frame of the platform, cut and screwed the floor down, and installed the elevators at home. Hauled all the wood and power tools to the spot. Put two legs in and screwed them secure. Used a 2x4 to push it up so we could slam the other two legs in and secured them. Then I cut 2x4s to the needed length on each cross brace. Then I cut the 2x4s as needed for the ladder. Next we drove the two tposts to make a X and then wrapped them vertically to form a big loop. Ran an eye bolt into the bottom of an overhead 2x6 and ratchet strapped the wire and the eye bolt tight to form the anchor. Then I drove wood shims into the small gaps between the elevators and posts just to take any shake out. Pretty easy build honestly.
