NEW HERE!! Here's my resume....

Been reading here for a while, looked like a good place to join. I am 27 years old and Have bowhunted since I can remember when. I am absolutly addicted to whitetails...they consume me. I have been fortunate enough to take pope and yound whitetails consecutivly now for the last dozen or so years, most over 150. Last years being my biggest grossing 186" even...typical, netted in B&C too. I enjoy bears in the spring as well. Hope to learn alot from everyone here.

THanks Whitetailnut.

Watching a couple but kind I'm stuck as last fall, all, and I mean all the mature bucks I was seriously "watching" got killed in season. Now I am stuck because a couple bucks that are the best in my area should probably be left for another year at least, nice bucks in that 160's range, but alot of potential for growth next year. Scouting is still on though so the search continues... So far, unless something changes, I think for my wife and I this will be a "managment" year as there are a few older bucks in my area that are sure hard on the younger up and comers. My crazy thinking tells me that it would be best if those deer were removed to make room for other dominant bucks. Plus a couple of them are gnarly lookin buggers. but it aint all about inches and I am sure it will be a great season no matter what as it will be my wifes first year bowhunting which will be a blast, and I'm hoping to get a load more video to share.

Thumbs up Lucky !!

WOW . I know that harvesting mature bucks is difficult no matter where you live , but I live in southwest Virginia and QDM must be some kind of new soft drink. I have hunted mature bucks for several years now and have connected just a few times. The local hunters here live by "the shoot before the next guy" rule . So bucks rarely live past 2 to 3 years. Good luck this year and save some for the rest of us !!
