Thread: California archers check in

  1. #26
    San Diego as well! New archer here. Just freshly registered haha. I shoot at Balboa a lot. Been to Morley once. My buddy got me into this sport about a week and a half ago. Bought a nice $100 little recurve and im HOOKED!

    Not to derail the topic but I met a few guys down at Balboa and I ruined a few arrows already. They told me its pretty easy to make my own arrows. Could anyone shoot me a PM as to how I would go about this? I see the pieces I want to buy on Lancaster but im totally lost as to what arrow sizes I should get. I draw to 28" @ 34# if that helps.

    Go go San Diego!

    Sweaty Desert Hot Springs here. Close to Palm Springs. Wifey and I do most of our shooting in the backyard, or in the hills close to the house. Cheers!

    I would shoot with you any time. but my wife might get jealous.

    socalhuntr,

    whats the prices to shoot there? Where I was in Indiana the shop was $6 for the whole day indoors or $6 outside for an hour. I however had my own indoor shooting spot, so shooting everyday didn't get expensive.

    If your in Rancho Cucamonga, the newly open Bass Pro has a range in the archery section. I went there last week and the archery team leadperson seem to be a nice guy. I saw several people shooting also.

    Is it open for anyone to shoot at or just customers trying out bows?

    at least untill they get their rental equipment;
    they dont know how much they are going to charge after that.

    you do have to stop shooting if a customer decides to tryout a bow.

    place is ok, kind of nice when a hot chick starts asking questions thinking you work there.
