Wanting to sell a Black Bear Mount
I have a full mounted black bear I shot with the bow that I would like to sell since I dont have room for it anymore. I am looking for help as to how and If I can advertise to sell it. I put it on ebay not knowing you cant sell bears on ebay and that ad was removed. I also spoke with a couple local taxidermist and they can not sell them either since there is not a bear season in SD. Any advise would be appreciated....

you may want to check the laws. seems to me my bro in law could not legally sell his rug due to some federal laws about seeling bear parts

Ditto. I think it is illegal to sell bear parts.

It just goes to show you how unbelievably stupid our legislation is! If they are making these laws to deter poaching, it's not going to work. People that are going to break the laws are still going to break the NEW laws. I will never understand it. These "criminal bear parts sellers" will get their money somehow, whether it's illegal or not. I could vent all day!

they are always lookig for mounts for the new stores they are opening.
They are presently opening one soon in East hartford,Ct.
The illegal bear parts I think refers to such things as Black bear gall Bladders which can fetch somewhere around $5000 each in the area of New York's Black market China town. Really great risk there not worth it for sure. Honest hunters would have too much to loose to do something as stupid as that. Anyway....
i don't think you would have a problem with selling your mount to Cabelas.
